Ciara put years of rumored tension with Rihanna to rest during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, confirming the two artists reconnected at the 2025 Met Gala and have moved on from their past.
The speculation dates back to 2011 when Ciara appeared on E!’s Fashion Police and commented that Rihanna “wasn’t the nicest” when they crossed paths at a party.
Rihanna fired back on Twitter, writing, “My bad ci, did I 4get to tip u? #howrudeofme (sic),” sparking a brief online exchange between the two.
But more than a decade later, Ciara says that chapter is closed.

“Oh my gosh, we were babies. Now we’re mamas doing our thing. It’s all love,” she told Cohen during the interview.
The singer added that she and Rihanna had a meaningful conversation at the Met Gala in May, where Rihanna revealed she is expecting her third child with rapper A$AP Rocky.
“We got to have a good conversation and she’s now having her third baby, which is so cool. So shout out to mamas out here doing everything,” Ciara said. “CiCi got a lot of love for RiRi.”
Ciara, 39, is raising four children—Future Zahir, 11, from her previous relationship with rapper Future, and Sienna, 8, Win, 4, and Amora, 18 months, with her husband Russell Wilson.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are parents to sons RZA, 3, and Riot, 22 months.
