(AllHipHop News) Hip Hop icons and Native Tongues loyalists De La Soul released their ninth studio album And The Anonymous Nobody August 26, and now they have unveiled a short film documenting the album’s creation.
The 33-minute short film entitled We’re Still Here (now)… a documentary about nobody documents the birth of the album from the announcement of the Kickstarter campaign to raise funding, to the fine tuning of the LP before its release.
The video opens with the group explaining that one of the motivations for the album’s creation was to avoid sampling, since the group ran into sample clearance issues in the past.
The short film also features plenty of live footage and interviews with artists such as, Common and Tommy Boy Records founder Thomas Silverman reflecting on the collective’s impact on Hip-Hop culture.
And The Anonymous Nobody features artists such as, Snoop Dogg, 2 Chainz, and Usher, as well as the track “Royalty Capes,” and can be purchased here.
