(AllHipHop News) Erica Garner, the daughter of Eric Garner, has died after suffering a massive heart attack on Christmas Eve.
Erica, 27, emerged as a fierce, unrelenting critic of the NYPD and police brutality after her father was murdered in Staten Island in 2014. Eric Garner was accused of selling cigarettes known as “loosies” and then the police attacked him, and then choked him to death. He told them he could not breathe 11 times and they continued to strangle him in an illegal chokehold.
Erica had a massive heart attack that resulted in brain damage. According to local ABC News, her mother, Esaw Snipes-Garner, Erica “went into cardiac arrest during an asthma attack and had since been in a coma.”
Snipes-Garner told ABC her daughter had a history of heart attacks, with her first being in August. She would find out later than her heart was enlarged after the birth of her son.
