(AllHipHop News) R&B singer Erykah Badu is weighing in on Kanye West’s controversial tweets and offering up support for the rap star.
Kanye has sparked controversy by offering up his support for President Donald Trump, who thanked the rapper and said he had “great taste” for his support.
A number of artists have condemned Kanye’s right-leaning beliefs and his tweets, including Malik Yusef, Questlove, John Legend, T.I., Snoop Dogg and Daz, who was so p##### at Kanye that he banned Kanye from California.
Erykah Badu stayed out of the politics but supported Kanye’s “free thinking” mentality and criticized the torrent of backlash the Chicago producer has been facing.
“that’s what u get for using your own brain…u know that’s illegal in most states right?” Erykah Badu tweeted.
“Not a matter of a individuals being ‘wrong’ or ‘right,'” she continued. “Perhaps a matter of accepting (& I’m going to stretch & even say ‘respecting’) the thoughts of others when they are ‘different’ from YOURS or those of the “group’s.” Something is ‘wrong’ with that. DIALOGUE vs DEMONIZE.”
