Hip-Hop legends Eric B. & Rakim are now contenders for the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame sources tell AllHipHop. The nod underscores the dynamic influence and enduring legacy of the duo and, more broadly, Hip-Hop.
This is the second time the pair has been nominated for the prestigious accolade, with the first being in 2012. A Twitter (also known as X) post from Eric B.’s manager, Louis “Uncle Louie” Gregory appeared to confirm the news.
Should Eric B. & Rakim be inducted, they will join the ranks of other Hip-Hop luminaries Run-DMC, Jay-Z, LL COOL J, Public Enemy, The Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, Eminem and most recently, Missy Elliot.
The potential induction stands as a testament to the evolving boundaries of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and the increasing inclusivity of diverse musical genres.
The final nominations for the 2024 crop haven’t been fully announced but stayed tuned to AllHipHop for an exclusive interview with Eric B.
