Terror Squad Leader Fat Joe said he looks to capitalize immediately on his newfound mainstream success as he prepares to release a new album, Loyalty. Less than a year after Jealous Ones Still Envy (J.O.S.E.) . went platinum, his latest opus is scheduled to hit shelves on November 12th via the rapper’s Terror Squad imprint and Atlantic Records. Fat Joe said in a statement that he is looking toward expanding his fan base. “This is my most diverse album yet. I think the world is going to be in shock when they hear how much I’ve grown musically.”
The lead single “Crush Tonight” featuring Ginuwine, is being released to radio outlets and the rapper said he would be filming a video shortly. The single also features Terror Squad resident crooner, Tony Sunshine and was produced by Precision. Other producers who laid tracks for the album include Terror Squad affiliate Armageddon, Teflon, Ron Browz, Ty Fyffe, longtime collaborators Cool & Dre and The Alchemist. According to Fat Joe, he has worked with many of the producers before, which contributed to him naming the album “Loyalty.”
Scheduled to share the mic with Joey Crack on his fifth album are Scarface and Cam’rom. Also expect to hear cuts with Terror Squad members Remy Martin, Prospect and Charlie Rock LD, who the late Big Pun shouted on his debut album.
With 2001’s Jealous Ones Still Envy (J.O.S.E.) , Joe achieved his first taste of platinum success through singles like “We Thuggin’” featuring R.Kelly and “What’s Luv?” featuring Ashanti, a song that peaked at number 2 on the Billboard’s Hot 100.
