(AllHipHop News) According to Billboard, Fat Joe has secured his highest charting single in nearly a decade, with his summer anthem, “All The Way Up.”
The track, which features Remy Ma, Infared and French Montana, placed as high as #31 on the Billboard 100 and #9 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs list.
Bronx native Fat Joe is certainly one of the oldest rappers still pumping out hits at and at 45-years-old, and he doesn’t see his age as an obstacle one bit.
“We’re pioneering the new mind-set, because every artist — even me before I turned 40 years old — used to be like, ‘If you’re 40 and you rap, get the hell out,'” said Fat Joe.
“I see the importance of it for Hip-Hop’s culture. Now, your favorite rapper might try to make a comeback.”
The MC says he doesn’t like to do drugs, but his rise to the top has a very similar effect.
“I don’t get high on drugs, but getting a hit record like ‘All the Way Up’ and hearing somebody drive by playing it is like smoking crack. It’s euphoria to me — there’s no better feeling in the world.”
Recently, the smash hit received two more remixes to accompany the Jay-Z featuring remix, courtesy of a David Guetta version and a version featuring Daddy Yankee and Nicky Jam.
Fat Joe, CEO of Terror Squad Entertainment, will be releasing a joint album with Remy Ma later this summer entitled Plato o Plomo (Spanish for “silver or lead”) that will feature Ty Dolla $, Kent Jones, and a currently unnamed “living R&B legend.”
