Rapper Game has revealed the producers for his highly anticipated fourth release, titled the R.E.D. Album.
In addition to working with producers like Dr. Dre, Just Blaze and Cool & Dre, Game has been holed up in the studio with Neptunes front man Pharrell Williams for the first time in his recording career.
“This s**t aint nothing to play with,” Game told AllHipHop.com. “I’m in the studio with Dre [and] I’ve been in [the studio] with Pharrell. Pharrell don’t work with nobody dog except N.E.R.D. and Clipse. Me and him been getting it in. I never had no idea that me and Pharrell would bond and click this well.”
The result was of their sessions has been nothing short of spectacular according to Game, who labeled Pharrell his “favorite producer in the world.”
“I have a whole nother respect for him,” Game told AllHipHop.com. “He is now my favorite producer in the world and is also a friend of mine.”
Game is also excited about working with Pharrell Williams and Dr. Dre, both of whom will share Executive Producer credits for their involvement with the R.E.D. Album.
Game was able to complete over nine recordings within the first few days of working with Pharrell Williams. His process with mentor Dr. Dre has not been so fast.
“Dre is a perfectionist so it always takes longer than you expect,” Game told AllHipHop.com. “Sometimes he be dragging his feet, but you can’t be mad at him, because the outcome is always 100% classic. He still got people waiting on Detox after ten years after Chronic 2001 was dropped. But he’s the father of my career. He gave me, 50, Eminem, Tupac and Snoop all light. And all of us are millionaires and rappers that are potent in Hip-Hop because of this man and his music and what he does with his fingers.”
After years of waiting, Game has revealed he has finally confirmed that production legend DJ Premier will be contributing a track to the R.E.D. Album.
Game will be in New York this month laying tracks with DJ Premier at the helm.
“I didn’t feel like it would be complete without a beat from DJ Premier, which I haven’t been able to do my whole career,” Game said.
“I am a die hard DJ Premier f**kin’ fan. To be able to go in with him next week is Christmas to me man. Whatever he gives me, I am going to f**king eliminate.”
