Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign will likely have the No. 1 album in the country next week. Industry forecasters project the duo’s Vultures 1 to open with over six figures in sales.
According to HitsDailyDouble, Vultures 1 will open at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with around 140,000 first-week units. That total should be enough for Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign to hold off Noah Kahan’s Stick Season (81,000 units).
Vultures 1 finally arrived on February 10 after several delays. If the project does take the top spot, Kanye West will score his 11th chart-topper on the Billboard 200.
Previously, West’s Donda debuted at No. 1 with 309,000 units sold in its first week in 2021. The last few years have seen the Chicago native face widespread backlash for his anti-semitic comments.
A No. 1 opening for Vultures 1 would give Ty Dolla $ign his first Number One on the Billboard 200 chart. 2020’s Featuring Ty Dolla $ign became the only project by the Los Angeles-bred singer to peak inside the Top 10 at No. 4.
Additionally, Coming Home by Usher appears to be headed to a No. 3 debut. The Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show headliner’s ninth studio LP will total nearly 78,000 first-week units in its first seven days of release.
