(AllHipHop News) Killer Mike has been one of the most politically outspoken representatives of the Hip Hop community over the last few years. The Atlanta-based emcee stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to discuss police brutality and white America’s reaction to the news of cops killing unarmed African-Americans.

“White people who are watching, Google Jane Elliott. She has an experiment called the [“Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes” exercise]. I encourage you just to simply watch that. It will actually grow you,” said Mike after Colbert asked if the white community becoming aware of the police killings around the country changed the national dialogue.
The Run The Jewels member went on to add these issues have been talked about for over five decades, so the systemic problems facing black people in America should not be a surprise to anyone at this point. Mike then spoke about how he goes to colleges and explains to the white students why they need to help a child from a different ethnicity attend college.
“Teach them the path you were taught to help them become a successful human being,” offered Mike. “What you’re going to get out of that experience is another human being that’s taking full advantage of an educational system that can help them in their community. But more than that, it grows you as a human being to have empathy for someone that doesn’t look like you, who’s culturally not from your background.”
