Last night (June 1), the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Lebron James gave a legendary performance and scored a career playoff-high of 48 points, as the Cavaliers defeated the Detroit Pistons in Game 5, which was an exciting, 109-107 double-overtime victory for the Cavaliers.
James, who also raps, held a promotion with Sprite that started in January, that gave fans the opportunity to create an exclusive theme song for the superstar basketball player titled “Main Attraction.”
Over 2,900 submissions were collected from various websites including MySpace.com and AllHipHop.com.
James and rappers Paul Wall and Al Fatz handpicked the winning track, which was produced by Kanoa “eternallyballn” Doblin of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Doblin collaborated with Paul Wall and Al Fatz in the studio to produce “Main Attraction,” James’ theme song which can be heard during games, as the Cavaliers attempt to make it to the NBA Finals for the first time in the franchise’s history. “Lebron is truth on the basketball court, and we had a lot of fun making the song for him,” Paul Wall told AllHipHop.com. “He’s handling up right now in the playoffs, kinda like how I’m handling up on the mic and demolishing the tracks.”
“Main Attraction” premiered for the general public today (June 1) on AllHipHop.com.
“To have a theme song created by the fans of Sprite and the NBA is a real honor,” James said. “The online world offers so many new and exciting ways for all of us to communicate and express ourselves.”
The Cleveland Cavaliers will take on the Detroit Pistons on Sat., June 2 in Cleveland. The Pistons face elimination during Game #6 of the Eastern Conference Finals, which airs on TNT.
Despite his legendary performance in Game 5, James remained focused and confident about his team making it to the finals, where the winner of the series will meet the San Antonio Spurs.
“Just for the simple fact that we won the ball game means more than anything besides my performance,” James said. “…So the win is the most important thing for us, and we are one more win from getting to our goal…we can’t dwell on this…when we have another game on Saturday. We have got to do our best to try to win that ball game and get where we wanted to be all year..”
