LL Cool J has scrapped the rest of his tour plans for the summer due to a family problem, according to organizers of the 15th Annual Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest, which takes place July 15-21 in Montego Bay.
Last week, organizers of the event announced that LL Cool J had been booked to play on Friday (July 20).
According to representatives for the Reggae Sumfest, LL Cool J has cancelled the date.
“We have just been advised by LL Cool J’s management that due to a family problem, LL Cool J has been forced to cancel all his summer dates and hence he will not be performing at Sumfest,” organizers of the annual Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest said in a statement published in the Jamaican Observer.
Organizers of the Sumfest also stated that other major dates affected are the Essence Music Festival, which runs July 5-8 in New Orleans.
Representatives for LL Cool J were not available to comment as of press time.
