Ludacris has been awarded full custody of his young daughter, Cai, a 13-month old child born to Tamika Fuller.
A court deemed the rapper as the more “fit and proper parent” to take care of the child, whose full name is Cai Bella Bridges.
The rapper was immersed in a serious, contentious dispute with Fuller.
“After review of all the evidence, the testimony of the witnesses, the report of the guardian ad litem, and the claims made throughout this entire case, I am gratified that the judge found me to be the most fit and proper parent to have primary physical custody of our beautiful daughter,” Luda told People magazine in a statement.
Fuller revealed that Ludacris, real name Chris Bridges, requested her to get an abortion when they found out she was with child.
“I told him the same day that I found out. He was not happy. He cried. It wasn’t that he wasn’t happy because he did say, ‘This wasn’t something that we planned. Let’s move forward and get an abortion. We’re not going to have a family. The baby is not going to be with the mother and the father in the same house,” she maintained. “This is all bad.’ [He said] it would ruin his life. It’s going to ruin his career.”
The court charged that the damaging and public remarks Fuller made hurt her. She attempted to also get more money from the rapper in the form of child support. She also publicly aired out a lot of the rapper’s professional finances, which was viewed negatively from a judge.
The baby was conceived while Luda was publicly with then-girlfriend Eudoxie, who is now his wife.
He has a 13-year-old daughter named Karma, a teen from another relationship altogether.
