Machine Gun Kelly Earns First No. 1 Album With ‘Tickets To My Downfall’

The Bad Boy/Interscope recording artist stepped away from a rap sound for his latest LP.

Colson “Machine Gun Kelly” Baker now has a #1 album in his catalog. With 126,000 equivalent album units, MGK’s Pop-Punk effort Tickets to My Downfall debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart.

Tickets to My Downfall was offered as merchandise/album bundles on Kelly’s official online store. The project sold 63,000 copies in pure sales and totaled 81.1 million on-demand streams.

“WE DID IT. #1 album. 126,000 units first week. To the fans + EST you really made it happen the way we talked about 10 years ago. today is a celebration. sorry random car,” posted Kelly on Instagram.

MGK’s fifth studio album becomes his fifth Top 10 entry on the Billboard 200. Previously, the Cleveland representative made it into the Top 10 with 2012’s Lace Up (#4), 2015’s General Admission (#4), 2017’s Bloom (#8), and 2019’s Hotel Diablo (#5).

For Tickets to My Downfall, Machine Gun Kelly enlisted guest features from Halsey, Trippie Redd, Blackbear, and Iann Dior. Blink-182’s Travis Barker was heavily involved in the album’s production.

This week will also include MGK showcasing another element of his brand. On October 10, Kelly is presenting a four-part special holiday podcast. Halloween In Hell will feature 24kGoldn, Dana Dentata, and Iann Dior. All four acts contributed new music for the program.
