The network is set to air a Hip Hop competition show. MTV.com describes the series:
Television producer Mark Burnett, the mastermind behind juggernaut reality-contest shows The Voice, Survivor, and Celebrity Apprentice, will executive produce a new hip-hop music competition series. The end game? Getting tomorrow’s top talent in front of the industry’s top dogs — and then getting them signed and into the recording studio.
The cable channel is also bringing back a classic. MTV Unplugged is set to return. The acoustic performance show will take elements of the original which debuted in 1989, but it has also been modernized to reflect the media landscape of the 2010’s.
Wonderland is another program about to hit TV later this year. Both musicians and comedians will perform from a site in Los Angeles. Comedy Central is working in conjunction with MTV for the series.
