NO ROCK HALL OF FAME FOR CUBE, DRE, EAZY, YELLA, & REN

(AllHipHop News) Legendary Hip Hop group N.W.A will not be among the acts enshrined in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2015. The list of inductees have been announced, and the California crew was passed over.

The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Green Day, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Lou Reed, Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble, and Bill Withers are the latest class to be immortalized in the Cleveland facility. Other finalists not selected were Chic, Kraftwerk, The Marvelettes, Nine Inch Nails, The Smiths, The Spinners, and Sting.

“As we mark 30 years of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductions, we’re proud to honor these artists,” said Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation President Joel Peresman. “These Inductees epitomize Rock & Roll’s impact over the past 50 years and continuing through today.”

This was the second time N.W.A. made it to the final round of the selection process for the Hall. The collective, consisting of Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, DJ Yella, MC Ren and the late Eazy-E, was previously nominated in 2012. So far, Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five, Run-D.M.C., the Beastie Boys, and Public Enemy are the only Hip Hop acts to be voted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

While N.W.A will not be part of the 2015 Rock Hall class, they will be celebrated next year in a major motion picture. Cube recently screened the trailer for the Straight Outta Compton biopic in Australia. The film is scheduled for release in August 2015.
