Nicki Minaj kicked off her Pink Friday 2 World Tour on Friday (March 1) in Oakland—and it wasn’t as smooth as it could’ve been. According to multiple photos and videos online, a brawl took place during the concert, prompting fans to throw elbows, fists and whatever else they could find.

The main fight appeared to erupt between a couple of fans dressed in black and another in all pink, Minaj’s signature color. People in the background can be heard questioning the person in pink’s gender, with “Is that a boy or a girl?” One person was put in a headlock and began hitting them multiple times in the head while they were being held back against the seats. In a video uploaded by TMZ, they fight continues for a few minutes until security intervenes.

Nicki Minaj will continue the Pink Friday 2 World Tour in Denver on Sunday (March 3). The run has already been a source of controversy due to Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty. Last month, somebody photoshopped a warning label onto a digital ticket that encouraged underage attendees not to go backstage because of Petty’s criminal record.

It read in part: “Please be advised in accordance with California state regulations, we are obligated to disclose the presence of a level three sex offender backstage.” It went on to name Petty as the aforementioned offender and directed underage attendees to refrain from interacting with him.

Although it was quickly deemed fake, it didn’t stop people from commenting on Petty’s background.

“Fake or not, his charges are real as hell and she’s a clown,” a user tweeted, to which another said, “For something he did when he was 15. The law is the law and they gotta abide.” They were met with, “Rape is rape.”
