Simon and Schuster’s Simon Spotlight Entertainment has teamed with former Milwaukee pimp Ken “Pimpin’ Ken” Ivy to release Pimpology, The 48 Laws of the Game.
The book, which is a “pimped out” version of Robert Green’s bestselling book The 48 Laws of Power, was written with author Karen Hunter (Confessions of a Video Vixen, On the Down Low) and features Pimpin’ Ken sharing the “unwritten rules of the street” and “sharing his knowledge of the world.”
“Like a cowboy and astronaut rolled into one – pimps are guys who start with nothing but the words coming out of their mouths and end up to be driving a Rolls Royce and wearing custom Versace,” a press release for the book read.
Pimpin’ Ken is a familiar character within some sub-genre’s of Hip-Hop.
He’s appeared on records with Jermaine Dupri (“Instructions”), Lil’ Flip (“Still Ballin'”), Too $hort’s (“Chase the Ca”t), Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz’ album Kings of Crunk and also had a high profile appearance in 50 Cent’s video for his hit single, “P.I.M.P.”
Pimpin’ Ken was also been featured in and acted as a consultant for HBO’s documentary, Pimp’s Up, Ho’s Down.
In The 48 Laws of the Game, Pimpin Ken describes the 48 laws he learned over the years. ‘
“The absolute best pimps – business tycoons, power brokers, and politicians – don’t have girls on the streets working the tracks, but they do make countless dollars living off of other people’s intelligence and hard work,” Pimpin Ken said. “Good pimps don’t have to steal or take anyone’s money by force, because hoe’s will give pimps their money willingly.”
The book also includes a “Pimptionary,” a detailed listing of phrases that originated in the pimp culture, and are now in common use (“break yourself,” “reckless eyeballin,” “square,” “sugar daddy,” etc).
Simon and Schuster Spotlight Entertianment was launched in 2004 and is part of the CBS corporation.
The company has released books by Tommy Chong, Lewis Black, Tiki Barber and the company will release Tori Spelling’s upcoming memoirs.
Pimpology: The 48 Laws of the Game by Pimpin’ Ken is due in stores July 24.
Some of Pimpin Ken’s laws and excerpts include:
Law 1 – Purse First, Ass Last – What seperates a pimp from a trick is that a pimp completely flips the game. a trick pays a ho for the p***y, but a dhoesn’t get to f### a pimp until she pays him. A ho has got to put it in a pimp’s pocket like a rocket before the pimpin’ can begin….violating this law will guaranteea pimp a career of troubles and stress.”
Law 4 – Keep a Ho in Arrears – A pimp says he keeps a ho in the hole because she is irresponsible. But the real reason is that the more someone depends on you, the more power you have over them.
Law 16 – Give Motivation and Inspiration – It’s important that a Ho doesn’t feel like she’s ho’ing for nothing. She has to constantly have an incentive, a carrot dangled in front of her face.
Law 48 – Don’t Believe the Hype – The value of this game is learning how to pomp the same way Uncle Sam, big businesses and the power brokers of this world pimp. The question you must ask yourself is: are you a pimp or a ho?
