Two popular Hip-Hop radio stations relieved a number of DJ’s from their duties over the weekend.

On Friday (October 30), Clear Channel’s R&B/Rap station Saint Louis’ KATZ-FM 100.3 the Beat changed its format, playing a variety of Halloween and Christmas songs.

Jocks like Kiki the First Lady, DJ AJ and host Dwight Stone were let go from the station due to the change in format.

“The entire Beat staff including myself was just let go,” said Kiki of Saint Louis’ 100.3 The Beat. “I’m good GOD is in the mist! Just want to THANK YOU for all your years of love and support over my radio career!”

In a striking coincidence today (November 2), popular radio host Charlamagne the God was fired from Philadelphia’s WPHI 100.3 The Beat, after the station decided to go in a “different direction.”

The firing comes on the heels of Charlamagne securing the first interview with Beanie Sigel after the Philly rapper released “Average Cat,“ his scathing diss record to former mentor Jay-Z.

Charlamagne the God joined 100.3 The Beat in April of 2008 after leaving his position as co-host of the nationally syndicated “Wendy Williams Experience.”

He hosted a popular morning show every morning from 6:00am – 10:00 AM.

“Salute to Philly I hope you all enjoyed me the past 6 months,” host Charlamagne the God Tweeted today.
