(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent and Dr. Dre are the targets of a lawsuit from producer Brandon “Dirty Bird” Parrott, over their 2003 hit track “P.I.M.P.”
According to TMZ, Parrott sent 10 tracks to Dr. Dre in 2001, with hopes of landing placement with artists under the West coast legend’s tutelage at Aftermath.
According to Parrott, Dr. Dre admitted that he used portions of the producer’s track “BAMBA” in “P.I.M.P.”
Parrott alleges that Dr. Dre also stated that he was unaware that Parrott’s work would be included in the final edits of the track.
Parrott eventually agreed to a settlement deal of an undisclosed amount based on Dre’s claims that the unauthorized usage was a mistake.
However, Parrott recently gathered info that suggested the contrary, which has led him to further pursue legal matters in the situation.
“P.I.M.P.” was a hit single from 50 Cent’s 2003 debut release Get Rich Or Die Tryin.
The highly decorated album went on to go six times platinum according to the RIAA.
