(AllHipHop News) SpaceX founder Elon Musk is an interesting figure. Some people see him as a genius that will lead our society into its technological future, but others see him as just an eccentric billionaire with too much time on his hands.

For Hip Hop legend Q-Tip, the South African-born businessman has a similar vision as A Tribe Called Quest’s final music video. Tip spoke to Beats 1’s Zane Lowe about the visuals for “The Space Program.”

“It’s so funny because when we were making the song it was kind of conjecture about this would be a space station that has been built. Then right during the time we did the song and we were just fiddling with it, we started seeing reports of Elon Musk,” recalled Q-Tip.

He added, “I’ve read a lot of news. I saw this article with Elon Musk saying that by the mid-part of next year, 2019, he’s going to be able to offer the first trip for a small party of people to Mars. And I just thought its kind of happening serendipitously that we have this song.”

Warren Fu directed ATQC’s “The Space Program” short film which premiered exclusively on Apple Music. The clip was released in conjunction with the A Tribe Called Quest/Billionaire Boys Club “The Space Program” capsule collection.
