(AllHipHop News) Robert Kelly has been tied to stories of pedophilia, mental/physical abuse, and sex cults. While the R&B singer has never been convicted of any crimes, the problematic speculation connected to him has led to the #MuteRKelly movement which calls on his concerts to be called off.

The anti-Kells campaign seems to be effective. His scheduled appearance for the 2018 Love Jam at Chicago’s UIC Pavilion was canceled, and he took issue with not being able to perform.

“I don’t know why they canceled the show. I never heard of a show being canceled because of rumors, but I guess it’s a first time for everything. So I apologize to you guys,” said R. Kelly to his fans in a video posted on social media. “In the meantime, I’m gonna get to the bottom line of it, as far as my lawyers are concerned, see exactly what happened, and why I was canceled.”
