Rod Wave has scored the biggest sales week for any rap act in 2021 to take SoulFly to the top of the Billboard 200 chart.
The new release debuts at number one with 130,000 first-week equivalent album units.
SoulFly is the hip-hop star’s first number one album.
“I’m one of those artists where… I feel like everybody’s human at the end of the day. Everybody got they own problems. Everybody goes through s##t. My music is reality music, ‘cause everybody has ups and downs,” Rod Wave told AllHipHop.com in a previous interview.
Justin Bieber’s Justice falls to two, while NF’s Clouds (The Mixtape) is a new entry at three.
Carrie Underwood’s gospel album My Savior, which she performed in full during an Easter Sunday virtual gig, is also new at four, while Morgan Wallen’s former number one, Dangerous: The Double Album, falls to five.
