As technology
continues to play an increasing role in the way that music is delivered to consumers,
technology Voxonic Inc. and Rawkus Records have announced that they will release
a single from rap artist, Naledge, using software which transforms voices into
foreign languages. The single will be selected from Naledge’s forthcoming
album Naledge is Power which features production from Just Blaze, 9th Wonder
and Pete Rock. “Voxonic’s ability to customize voice for web
and mobile applications has a huge appeal and is certainly a great business in
2007,” said Brian Brater, Co-founder of Rawkus Records. “We anticipate
Voxonic enabling Naledge to reach a wider audience than the typical artist can.”
Naledge, born Jabari Evans, has been selected to serve as the test client
for this new partnership and will have his entire album translated in various
languages. Through Voxonic’s technology, Naledge’s album can
be converted into more than 1,400 different languages with 99% accuracy of the
original speaker’s voice. The new partnership is expected to provide
significant exposure to audiences abroad for Rawkus, which is known for breaking
many underground Hip-Hop acts including Talib Kweli, Mos Def and Common.
“It’s exciting to see various music artists break international
barriers, which can ultimately reverse the decline of record sales," stated
Arie Deutsch, President of Voxonic Inc. “With Voxonic’s technology,
record labels, independent artists and music franchises can expect to see a steady
increase in sales.” Naledge is Power is set to hit stores
later this year.
