Russell Simmons Says Anyone Who “Isn’t A White Male” Is A Risk Ahead Of Massive Pro-Muslim Rally

RUSSELL SIMMONS AND THOUSANDS TO RALLY IN TIMES SQUARE THIS SUNDAY IN SOLIDARITY WITH MUSLIMS

(AllHipHop News) Thousands of people of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds will join Russell Simmons, and a mixture of religious leaders on Sunday (February 19), to protest Donald Trump’s “Muslim Ban” to show solidarity with people who follow Islam.

Russell Simmons and longtime associate Rabbi Mark Schneier, who head up the Foundation For Ethnic Understanding (FFEU), will host over 50 organizations at the second “Today, I Am A Muslim Too” rally.

According to Russell Simmons, anyone who is not a white male is in danger under President Donald Trump’s administration.

“African-Americans, women, Latinos, Asians and LGBTQ are all at risk, but there is no freedom in that privileged status either because the spirit of the oppressor is oppressed as well. We are living in a time when unity will make America great. This is a special moment for all Americans of good will to band together to promote the kind of compassion and equality for others that we want for ourselves,” said Russell Simmons Chairman of the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding.

Rabbi Schneier said he was profoundly inspired by the worldwide demonstrations over the travel ban following the infamous executive order, which was ultimately blocked by the Supreme Court.

“We need to come together again, in the heart of Times Square, people of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds,” said Schnier who organized the first “Today, I Am A Muslim Rally Too,” which drew over 5,000 people in 2010.

The rally is scheduled to take place from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM in Times Square, at the corner of 48th St. and Broadway.
