(AllHipHop News) Sway Calloway has been known to be one of the most well-respected hip-hop journalists and radio personalities to ever do it.
Now, he’s taking his efforts to the next level: a whole festival under his name.
For the first time, he will be teaming up with his home team SiriusXM and Pandora to launch the inaugural Sway Fest 2019.
“Sway Fest 2019′ is a celebration of an amazing community of people that make up the Bay Area,” Sway said. “I’m looking forward to returning to my hometown and shedding a light on the diversity, culture, uniqueness, and magic that makes Oakland an amazing place.”
The live broadcast event will be curated and hosted by Sway, of course, who has his own show on SiriusXM’s Shade 45.
The block party will take place in the streets of Oakland, right outside of Pandora’s headquarters. Audiences can expect the 4-hour special broadcast live on Eminem’s channel beginning at 9 am PST on October 18th.
Taking place on Franklin Street between 21st and 22nd Streets, the fest is slated to attract celebrities, local leaders, and all types of special guests to celebrate hip-hop, community, and culture.
This will also be a celebration for Oakland-based SiriusXM and Pandora employees as they come together in his hometown.
Ahead of Sway Fest 2019, Sway will also unveil his own Pandora Story, a commentary to a playlist of songs that shaped him as he grew up as a youngster in the Bay Area.
Sway has been part of the SiriusXM family since 2011.
