While speaking on the success of her friend and Oscar nominee Mary J. Blige, Henson told Seacrest, “You know, the universe has a way of taking care of the good people.”
The Internet quickly decoded the statement to really be a shady rebuke of Seacrest over the sexual misconduct allegations against the Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host. However, Henson claimed she was actually showing support for the E! correspondent.
“I did it to keep his chin up. It’s an awkward position to be in. He’s been cleared but anyone can say anything,” Henson expressed to People.
