Thousands of fans,

friends and family came out to honor hip-hop legend Jam Master Jay in Saint

Albans, Queens in New York. Throngs of people lined Linden Blvd. on a chilly

fall evening to get a glimpse of the man who broke down so many barriers in

hip-hop.

Jay was dressed

in Run-DMC’s trademark uniform: a black leather suit, a gold rope chain necklace

with a sneaker pendent and a pair of crisp Adidas.

Cars rode up and

down Linden Blvd. playing a variety of Run-DMC classics, some were even adorned

with "RIP Jam Master Jay" banners. Other people wore custom made T-Shirts

that featured Jay’s face.

The ceremony started

after 7 P.M. at the J Foster-Phillips Funeral Home and despite the long lines,

police continued to allow fans to see Jam Master Jay until almost 10 P.M.
