(AllHipHop News) A lot of NBA players use music to help them get hyped up before stepping out on the court. The Bleacher Report connected with a few of the league’s stars from this year’s playoffs to find out what playlists serve as their motivation before the game.

Kanye and Kim have not been in the rumors so much recently. I guess the Solange Show has taken over for the time being.

These mainstream outlets love the Hip-Hop thing again. Anyway, US Magazine is reporting that Kanye and Kim have aborted the notion of having their wedding in the city of love, Paris. But they are not coming back to the States, according to the report. It seems that the couple has moved their nuptials to Florence, Italy. Seems like they are going to several spots that weekend, but it seems that nobody knows what is up, truly. None of the guests have the same information so I guess the privacy of the wedding will be retained.

Imagine if they were like this around Treach and Pepa back in the day.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Drake And Rihanna Are Done!

I thought it was already over, but it seems like its official to the bone gristle. Drake and Rihanna have called it quits. It seems like they just kept fighting. I can’t imagine what over, but maybe Drake didn’t wanna share the down pillows? I don’t know. Anyway, a recent report by US Magazine is telling it all.

“Rihanna and Drake had another fight. He is too in love with her, which has always been the problem. They have been fighting, but that could all change any day now. It is how it always is with them.”

Anyway, this is all know know that they are on another break from each other. Drake didn’t make it to the MET Afterparty Rihanna threw. But, I’m thinking he may have wanted to avoid, Jay Z! LOL!!!!

Anyway, nah…good that Rihanna is back on the market now.

Beyonce and Jay Z Release First Public Statement About Elevator Fight With Solange

(AllHipHop News) According to the Carters, all’s well that ends well with that family. Today (May 15th), Jay Z and Beyonce releases their first public statement since the footage of Solange’s fight with Jay Z at a Met Gala afterparty surfaced.

In the statement sent to The Associated Press, the couple addresses the speculation over the cause of the fight, but maintains that “our family has worked through it.” While not stating what the cause was, the statement does address Jay Z and Solange taking culpability for the incident:

 Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family. 

The statement also dispels the rumors that Solange was intoxicated during the elevator incident. The statement continues to read “families have problems and we’re no different.”

As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family. The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false,” the statement continued. “At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.

MediaTakeout is reporting that the NYPD are going to charge Solange with assault in the 3rd degree for laying hands (and feet) on Hov.

5-0 has a full copy of the security tape from the incident, meaning they don’t need Jay’s cooperation to move forward.

A Baltimore teen decided to replicate the singer’s jumpsuit from the 2010 Berlin ECHO Awards, for her Hollywood themed prom. Once the internet got ahold of her suit, they wasted no time tearing it to shreds. Soon after Rihanna herself joined in tweetng the girl’s picture comparing it to the Wu-Tang logo, and retweeting the trending topic #PromBat.

A local Baltimore news station caught up with 16-year-old student who said, “I was very offended. Why throw shade on it when you had on the exact same thing. The poses was different but the outfit wasn’t. She don’t love her fans like she says she does.”

 

Meek Mill: I Found Out I Was Sued On My Birthday At My Mother's House

(AllHipHop News) Meek Mill “graduated from that corner” but admits that other forces keep trying to pull him back. After a visit with his parole officer, Meek Mill discovered that he was the subject to a lawsuit that was filed on his birthday.

Earlier today (May 15th), Meek Mill went to his personal Postgram account and revealed that during a visit to his mother’s home he discovered he was sued on his birthday (May 6th). Meek did not reveal any further details regarding the suit besides a picture of the lawsuit:

Earlier today Meek deleted a series of tweets he sent out accusing the District Attorney on his probation of being a racist. Meek Mill was convicted of gun and drug possession and sentenced to seven months back in 2008. According to Meek, the District Attorney Noel Ann DeSantis has a bias against Meek:

Everytime I go 2 probation it’s a new thing ….The D.A on my case a racist…I caught that case when I was 18 she still bothering me

Meek first referred to DeSantis as a racist on the Dreamchasers 2 song “The Ride” back in 2012. Three months after Dreamchasers 2 was released, DeSantis urged the rapper to “tread lightly” when making inflammatory comments towards her in his music.

Trey Songz Talks About His "Discrepancy" With August Alsina For The First Time (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Two months after August Alsina intimated that himself and Trey Songz had a “falling out”, Trey Songz finally addresses the short-lived disagreement for the first time.

In a March 2014, August Alsina informed RapUpTV that he didn’t “f*ck with Trey [Songz]” and less than two weeks after the interview was posted, explained his comments further to The Source:

All I said was, ‘we ain’t good right now’. With this music sh*t, sometimes it gets deeper than music. Like when you become somebody homie or whatever, I hold you to a certain standard and you know, that’s how it is.

After months of Alsina answering all of the questions regarding the rift between him and Trey Songz, Mr Steal-Yo-Girl finally chimes in. During a recent interview with Capital Xtra, Songz addresses the “discrepancy” he had with Alsina and speaks on their personal relationship:

We had a discrepancy and he didn’t know how to deal with that. He hasn’t been in the situation where he has to answer the same question a million times, that’s frustration. He probably said some things he really didn’t mean. Out of pressure. I really care about him. He got a lot going on in his life outside of music and I know that about him. So, I didn’t feel the need to speak out against him.

A day after footage surfaced of the Vice President of the Players Association claiming Lebron James would boycott next season if Donald Sterling remained an NBA owner, Lebron James himself denies the reports.

Last night (May 14th), before Lebron James and the Miami Heat eliminated the Brooklyn Nets from the NBA Playoffs, James spoke with ESPN about the statements made by NBA players union vice president Roger Mason Jr. on Jim Rome on Showtime:

Roger comes in here, we speak about issues. I believe that issue came up but, as a team, we never discussed it. Roger is a great guy and I don’t have a problem with him at all.

(AllHipHop News) One man’s nightly talk show is another man’s recording studio. During Questlove and Black Thought’s interview on SiriusXM’s Hip Hop Nation, Questlove revealed how The Roots began working with Jimmy Fallon and how the show helped in ways not apparent to the public.

Back in March 2009, Questlove announced that The Roots were retiring from touring to be the house band for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. According to Questlove, the idea for The Roots to be the house band for Jimmy Fallon was proposed five years ago by someone other than Jimmy Fallon:

At the time when I was working on The Chapelle Show, Neal Breannan [co-creator of The Chapelle Show] said he was thinking about directing The Jimmy Fallon Show. Kind of as a joke  So, he said ‘why don’t [The Roots] be the band’, knowing that we couldn’t do it. But, he knew that we had connections to get other musicians.

Questlove stated that The Roots later considered the offer, because they had been touring for 17 years by 2009. After calling it “one of the best moves” the legendary band could have made at that point in their career, Questlove explains how working with Jimmy Fallon has not only made them better musicians but helped them record their latest album …& Then You Shoot Your Cousin.

We rehearse more now. We never rehearsed much as The Roots on the road. [Black Thought interjects– “we were too busy actually playing.] Yeah, doing a three hour set every night, in my opinion, sort of like rehearsing. But now it’s like, it’s made us better musicians. Our dressing room is our studio. We record there 24/7.

I don’t know how this cam across our desks here at AllHipHop, but we had to share this one. It really sends a shock to the soul when you really think about it. It makes you think about a Chappelle show skit.

But, no…this is real life. Check this out:

Patrolman Ron Stallworth (1975) at the age of 22  the First Black and, at that
time, the youngest detective in the history of the Colorado Springs PoliceDepartment.

Here is what he did back in the day:

I was able to “sting” (con) the local Organizer of the Colorado Springs chapter of the KKK, the Grand Dragon (equivalent to a state leader) for the Colorado Klan, and David Duke who, atthe time (1978-79), was arguably the premier national leader of the various KKK factions in the country.

He was based in the New Orleans, Louisiana area, and held the title of Grand Wizard.  They all believed I was to quote David Duke “…an intelligent white man….” and, as a result, I was able to gain their trust and subsequently obtain membership into their faction of the Klan.  So successful was the “sting” that the Grand Dragon sought my advice on a couple of decisions concerning him and the Colorado Springs chapter and the Local Organizer,  a Specialist 5 in the Army who was in the process of being discharged, avidly put my name up to the chapter membership
for a vote to replace him.

Listen, I don’t know what to do anymore. This Jay / Solange / Beyonce thing won’t stop so I have to do something – anything – to get us out of the matrix of Elevator-Gate.

Here is something that I know people just don’t care about, but I don’t care.

Madonna is one old chick. Back in the day she would do just about anything for a look and she still does. This time, its through the visuals she offers on Instagram. Well, the 55-year-old that looks 65 is really going all out. The other day she posted a picture that got all the gossipers talking.

Well, they say if you look behind her ear, Madge bears the scars of plastic surgery. And yes, there have been rumors forever that suggest she has been under the know quite a bit. But, yeah…they are going in on her now.

Like I said…this is meaningless, but it certainly…meaningless. But, I am glad Nicki stopped with the blonde wigs!
