(AllHipHop News) Since 2007’s 8 Diagrams, Wu Tang Clan fans and Hip Hop in general have been clamoring for a for a new album. Today (March 26th) it was announced that only one copy of a secret, 31-track double disc album from the Wu Tang Clan will be released entitled Once Upon A Time In Shaolin.
The album was mostly produced by Wu Tang Clan affiliate, Morroco-based producer Tarik “Cilvaringz” Azzougarh and was recorded with every member of the Wu-Tang Clan over the past six years. In an interview with Forbes, RZA explains that this innovative approach to releasing an album is based on a desire to increase the reverence for Wu Tang music in the art world:
We’re about to sell an album like nobody else sold it before. We’re about to put out a piece of art like nobody else has done in the history of [modern] music. We’re making a single-sale collector’s item. This is like somebody having the scepter of an Egyptian king.
The album will be “presented in a hand carved nickel-silver box designed by the British Moroccan artist Yahya” according to the private music service’s official website. The album will have an unorthodox release in every manner as its “tour” will take place in art exhibitions in museums, galleries and more. In order to curb piracy during these exhibitions, entry will cost between $30-$50, attendees will have relinquish all recording devices before entering and will only be able to hear the music through headphones.
Following the tour, Once Upon A Time In Shaolin will be sold to one private buyer for “millions”, possibly similar to Jay Z selling Magna Carta Holy Grail to Samsung for $5 million to release it exclusively on their app. RZA states that this new private music service could be what sustains the legacy of Wu Tang Clan beyond their physical limitations:
There will be a time when we can’t tour, and that’s just the natural evolution of man. And yet this particular privatized album, I think—this idea we have—will be something that will go longer than all of us.
Once Upon A Time In Shaolin is all original music and includes guest appearances from Redman, Bonnie Jo Mason and more. This album is separate from Wu Tang Clan’s oft-delayed 20th anniversary album, A Better Tomorrow. A Better Tomorrow is scheduled to be released this summer.

Sandra Rose reveals the truth about why she removed a post about Luda paying 10k a month. She said:
It’s a long story, but the truth of the matter is Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and his legal team did not threaten me with legal action if I did not take my post down.
What happened was this: my source down at the courthouse alerted me to the fact that Ludacris and his baby mama, Tamika Fuller, were in a closed door meeting that day. My source, who works in another part of the courthouse, could not be in the room (for obvious reasons).
Someone else who claimed to have intimate knowledge of what went on during the closed door meeting told me a string of lies, saying the judge ordered Luda to pay Tamika $10K a month.
Luckily, my source saw the post and notified me that it was ALL LIES. So I snatched the post down.
Ludacris was not ordered to pay Tamika $10K a month and, in fact, the meeting had nothing to do with determining child support.
Looks like it was all pure rumor.
Is the media purposefully distracting us from the real? Just a few years ago, you could get journalists and writers in war scenes and seeing what’s really happening, but now Justin Bieber gets more attention. Peep:
Sora Sakura wrote the following.
It’s because no one wants the common folk to start asking a lot of questions. Keep us entertained with Justin Bieber and Beyonce while they kill off whistleblowers left and right. Y’all can believe 20 bankers randomly committed suicide this close together and by nail guns and s### if you want to. You don’t even have to read conspiracy sites like Alex Jones. Just read non-American, Canadian, UK, Australian or New Zealand news. No American person or source will ever successfully expose what’s going on behind the curtains. He will either mysteriously commit suicide, or have so much b####### pumped out about him in the main stream media that his reputation will be ruined and everyone will just parrot what the news says. People believe anything the government tells us to believe.
Jay-Z wasn’t a student of Dr. York?
The higher ups hit me and told me that its possible Jay wasn’t anything to Dr. York back in the day even though there seems to be some reasonable doubt he was. The streets are talking, at least! So, that said, I really don’t know. Maybe it was just Jaz-O…Check out “The Originators” again.
Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys went on a vacation…with his ex-wife Mashonda? Weird!

Three of AllHipHop Breeding Ground artists on one song. Check these boys out!
Chox-Mak and Bunty Beats have been collaborating on projects and making music for a while now. These two have created a unique sound through Bunty’s production and Chox-Mak’s lyrics which is quite impressive. They have dropped ep’s in the past and even dropped singles together the last ep they dropped together was titled “Life After Def”. There was also another project dropped in 2012 tiltled “Boom Bap”‘ which featured nothing but hard beats and menacing word play. With their new collaboration mixtape “Balance” they switch it up from what everyone was used to hearing from them. Balance features a wide variety of music not just one specific type of sound. Balance will definitely be another great project that these two have planned for the masses. Look out more more Bunty Beats and Chox-Mak tracks dropping later in the future they are only getting started
(AllHipHop News) Schoolboy Q and Jem Cretes went from collaborators to rivals in less than a week. Last Sunday (March 23rd), Jem Cretes responded to Schoolboy Q’s accusing him of stealing one of Q’s verses with a diss track entitled “Schoolboy Q Response (Hustled All My Life)”.
According to the description in the YouTube post, the second verse is aimed “directly at SchoolBoy Q for his Fairy Tales and being a Cry Baby”. The second verses even makes reference to Kendrick Lamar’s Section 80 album and song “Regan Era”:
Used to be my mans, bruh/Now you forced my hands, bruh/Talking sh*t, you just a lame/Male females be all the same – I walked my pains, keep it lit/Off the chains, please free my d*ck/All these haters all want favors/Now or Later, he the b*tch/I’m chasing it, gotta get what’s mine/Replace a b*tch that’s got no spine/Mama raised me, section 80, Reagan Era, not fugazi/It’s f*ck you, pay me/Look in the mirror, f*ck your lady

(AllHipHop News) No matter if you’re a firefighter, cop or a mutli-millionaire international superstar rapper, when you have a child, they become the boss. Kanye West got a wet reminder of that during his photoshoot with his child North West and fiancee Kim Kardashian, according to Kim herself.
While on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Kim reacted to her and Kanye West being on the cover of Vogue and revealed a few stories about the couple’s relationships. One interesting tidbit is that during the photoshoot, North West decided to let nature call and Kanye was unfortunately the recipient of that call:
North peed on him right at that moment. And he was trying to tell me and I couldn’t really hear him. And I had to get up and get her, and clean her off, clean him off. It’s a good memory.
Check out Kim Kardashian explain how Kanye West and her still live in her mother’s home, using Kanye as an excuse to get out of work and more:
Perspective shapes reality; understanding one’s motivation fosters an empathic respect. Childhood interrupted by a sheltered existence—yes, actually living within the confines of a shelter—Fred The Godson, possesses an intimate knowledge of what it is to inherit poverty.
Sustenance gained from family, Hip-Hop, and hope a youthful shyness was overcome by the pen’s power. Willfully shaping reality through captured soul sonnets, Gordo Frederico, has transformed once compressed circumstances; these words, the conduit to achieving financial and personal freedom.
Collecting an expert arrangement of sounds, feelings, and words, Fat Boy Fresh, is the latest mixtape that the Bronx native offers to his supporters:
AllHipHop.com: As a fellow Pisces, I must wish you a belated, Happy Birthday. As it was exactly a month ago, how is another year’s knowledge assisting you to be a better man and a better MC?
Fred The Godson: Dope—Pisces—Pisces Power! The more time that you put into the game, you learn more things. So, as far as the emceeing goes I’m always getting better. I’m always working; this is my life. As far as being a better man—I’m a father; I have a daughter. I’m learning more from her. We’re running around [like] crazy. I’m just taking care of the house, you know.
AllHipHop.com: Since you plan to release videos for each track from Fat Boy Fresh, what other revenue streams are helping to alleviate the financial demands of your emceeing?
Fred The Godson: Just everything; we’re into everything. Like clothing, they’re calling me for a lot of reality things. There’s a lot of sh*t.
AllHipHop.com: May I have some free clothes, or no?
Fred The Godson: Yeah, of course, the manufactures are in the building right now. They’re here you can talk to them on a one-on-one basis after this is done. I’m sure they’ll have no problem in fulfilling your wishes.
AllHipHop.com: So sweet. Fat Boy Fresh flows smoothly. Going from the “Intro’s” message, to laid-back lyricism, to penetrating introspection, I came to appreciate its journey for depth. What was essential to confirm the final track sequencing?
Fred The Godson: The secret of the way my tracklisting to go smoothly is that I’m never there!
AllHipHop.com: Are you serious?
Fred The Godson: Yeah, I just make the songs. I don’t want to be part of that, because I like certain songs and I don’t want that to interfere with me making a whole body of work flow. Some songs I like better than other songs—then it’s not going to be good. I have my team, and other people, they’ll come and do it. And whatever comes out comes out.
AllHipHop.com: You must really trust them to give up that creative control.
Fred The Godson: Yeah, yeah—we ain’t failed yet.
AllHipHop.com: Let’s travel behind the bars. “Prisoners Poetry” is my favorite track; I had it on repeat. “…My skin color was born to do a f###### bid / I’m in this gray pen-state the way I touch these kids / you won’t get rich by being honest / they divide us, and the promise is the cries of the Obamas…”
Fred The Godson: That was my man, Reef Hustle. That was his verse. That was dope.
AllHipHop.com: When you see him give him a hug, a high-five—all that!
Fred The Godson: Yeah, I’ll give him your number and everything. He’s going to be very happy about that.
AllHipHop.com: The cadence is almost combative; the lyricism beautifully demonstrates a penetrating perspective. How long did it take Reef Hustle, Sunny Heights, and yourself to perfect the track?
Fred The Godson: Heights, he had been done that beat. He gave me that beat probably like months ago. Me and Reef just came into the studio, and in about 30 minutes we just laid it down.
AllHipHop.com: I just pictured you with pen and paper, crossing out sh*t—
Fred The Godson: Yeah, quick—it’s fast. You know, it’s probably like the way you do this. When you first started you was probably slow as hell; as you go you get faster.
AllHipHop.com: To me, the verse speaks to the classic battle of the shouldn’t-haves quest to transform a survival mentality into a thriving reality. When if ever, does the pursuit of financial security justify diminished morality as it relates to yourself and to your community?
Fred The Godson: That’s what this is all about, man. It’s just about having and not having. I lived in a shelter not far from here, Relo Shelter. I come from nothing. So, when it’s like that with anything that I get—even if I’m buying a pair of sneakers, or buying like a white t-shirt, or whatever, taking family and friends out to get something to eat—that’s a form of celebration; before we couldn’t do that.
People don’t know what it is to really be hungry. Or wanting some sneakers or wanting some pants and you can’t afford it. We come from nothing; that’s why we do all this. When you look at Rock & Roll, when they come on stage some of them got ripped up sneakers and ripped shirts and sh*t. Most of those dudes is white, they come from household with money.
They’re on some whatever-sh*t. Hip-Hop is the only thing that has the big chains, and the big earrings, and the big cars and everything. So, we want you to know that we got bread. Everybody comes from poverty, really. Everything is just a big celebration.
AllHipHop.com: How do you balance the pursuit of amassing material things with sustaining your soul and morality?
Fred The Godson: It just depends on the person. A lot of people can’t do it.
AllHipHop.com: How do you do it?
Fred The Godson: It’s just me. I don’t have no instructions. It’s just that you have to stick to what you’re doing. I know a lot of people that’s drifted away [from their morality]. They do however they do it the way they do it, because they want to do it that way. But with me, I always gotta remain official, for real. I got a family. I’m a father. I got five little brothers and sisters. I have to be an example. Moms and pops always say that they’re looking from Florida with their binoculars. So, I don’t drift off. Everyday, I got friends and a lot of people around me. I have to—let’s just put it like that—I’m never going to change.
AllHipHop.com: Is there anything else you’d like to share?
Fred The Godson: Thanks for the love. I just need everybody to go get that Fat Boy Fresh if they don’t already got it. It’s on Datpiff.com. It’s a free download. If you don’t like it I’ll give you your money back when you see me. TBM, Talk About Money, Fat Boy Fresh, ‘Strong is a Movement,’ we got the shirts out. Download your boy; I’m going to keep working. Everything out here for Fred is going to be crazy; I’m different!

Apparently, Young Thug – the rapper that’s not gay – is going to do the unthinkable. Hip-Hop is clearly getting weirder. But it seems like he is about to name his debut album as if it was in the sequence of Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter” series. THA CARTER VI? He reportedly explained his reasoning with DJ Whoo Kid, “It’s called The Carter IV. I just feel like I’m that ni**a because after ‘The Carter V’ he’s [Wayne] not making anymore music like that and I feel I can.” Now, I am assuming he meant VI, because there’s already a Tha Carter IV. Even still, Wayne has not retired and has announced that The Carter V will be his last in the series. I guess, Young Thug is going to pick up where Wayne leaves off? Strange.

(AllHipHop News) For decades, certain segments in Hip Hop have faced criticism for what some see as an excessive focus on materialism and violence. One rock performer has stepped up to try and defend his personal favorite style of rap music and at the same time throw a few shots at other artists as well.
Cole Alexander of the Atlanta-based group Black Lips spoke with A.V. Club to give his opinion about the subject. The conversation was sparked by Lorde’s anti-consumerism themed hit record “Royals” which Alexander views as righteous and confusing.

“Most of the people that are rapping about Maybachs and diamonds come from really ‘torn-up towns.’ I’m going on assumptions, but I feel like a lot of these guys are from Compton or these f**king ghettos like Memphis, and their parts of town are way more torn up than hers,” said Alexander. “I feel like they come from worse parts and they aspire to get Maybachs and diamonds because they come from ratchet-ass hoods where they have no hope. I think it’s a bit righteous of her.”
The guitarist also expressed his dislike for Young Money’s Drake. Alexander feels that Drake comes off as inauthentic.
“I’m sure he has some struggles in his life like everyone does, but I just don’t like Drake. He seems kind of fake to me,” added Alexander. “Personally, I like more melodramatic, ignorant rap where they’re talking about violence and anger and it’s just evil. I don’t like when it’s too conscious, I don’t like it when it’s too smart.”
Alexander then turned his attention to Macklemore and his song “Thrift Shop.” It was one particular line from the single Alexander took issue with.
“There’s that one line where they’re like, ‘That’s a cold-ass h####’,” Alexander said. “I feel like white people, when someone says something racist against them, they’re not very offended. They’ve never had to deal with racism so it’s almost a kind of white guilt, or a subtle kind of action. My problem isn’t the fact that he says ‘h####,’ though. It’s that he puts ‘h####’ in a black person’s mouth and they actually say it instead of him. He put a racist term into a black person’s mouth and had it thrown back at him to satiate his white guilt. That’s the way I look at it.”

“We’re looking at Hip Hop as a culture, not just as commercial music,” said the Kennedy Center’s Vice President of Community Engagement Garth Ross. “Hip Hop is one of our only indigenous American folk art forms. The hope is that the audience walks away with greater appreciation of how it fits within an evolving cultural landscape.”
One Mic includes presentations like “An Evening of Conversation with Nas and Michael Eric Dyson,” “Young Lions and Lionesses: A Look at Jazz in a Hip-Hop World,” and “Power of the People: Youth, Media, and Social Change Around the World.”

On working with Boosie:
Boosie had an idea that we were doing together and I’m not sure if I ever got back his vocals on it. Because right after, he was charged with murder and then that s### just got out of hand. I got to get up with him. He tried to reach out to me as soon as he got out but I was travelling and had so much s### going on. I’ll give him a call this week. I haven’t had a chance to finish [the song] but possibly you can hear something from me and Lil Boosie. I’d like to get something going with him. I don’t know what was going on with that situation, all I know is at the time I wanted to work with him.
On possibly working with Nas:
Nas is still Nas. I was disappointed in Nas when we had our little difference because I thought he didn’t see the possibilities. We never saw the crew that blew up in connection to his actual success. You saw the crew that blew up in connection with Jay Z: Roc-A-Fella. It’s a little disappointing that he didn’t broker what he had at the moment. At the end of it, the n***a’s still Nas. He ain’t never did nothing that I would have…
So I’m cool with him. We cool. It’s just—we’ll watch and see. They play word games and then get upset when I say something. But it’s not that serious to me. I don’t care.
