Hip-Hop Rumors: Is A Dipset Member Down And Out?

So, most of the Dipset is supposedly GOOD. Like these guys are actually doing really well with their money and tour a lot. BUT, I heard one member has gone back to the streets. Here is what a recent source told me. None of this is verified fact so take it with a grain of salt.

….Time has not been Kind to All , Dipset was once the most popular
Group in NYC with all the members of the group taking on there own solo careers
although the likes of Jim Jones an Julez have both become household names
there is one member of the group who is not enjoying that same success

After recording with mega artists like Lil Wayne an Cam’ron former
Dipset Affilate JR Writer is at the point where he is doing verses and music videos for 300-500 Dollars , but this isn’t the worst part .. the Worst part about it is JR Writer has been robbing some upstart rappers and keepin all the money , he has also taken a few shows been NY an CT where he has been paid the money an decided to either cancel , not show up or demand more money for new clothes , gasoline ect.

Its crazy to see how far a rapper has gone , from being that hot new artist on the block , bringing Lil Wayne to Harlem , all the way to stealing from the culture that embraced you.

This sounds like a personal issue to me. Somebody must have a personal issue with him. But, this is what they streets are saying…so its all ALLEGEDLY as far as I’m considered.

50 Cent: Jay Z Quit Competing With Me During My Prime

(AllHipHop News) In 50 Cent’s eyes, if men lie, women lie and numbers don’t, then he was the hottest MC from 2003-2006. During his appearance on Sirius XM’s Town Hall event last night (March 17th)  he spoke on how his greatest competitor quit during 50 Cent’s greatest run of success.

Ever since 50 Cent’s inflammatory “How To Rob” song in 1999, he and Jay Z have appeared on songs together, performed together and most evidently thrown subliminal shots at each other. After admitting that he believes there are subsets of the listening public which “follows trends” and no longer wanted to hear his music, he illustrates this point by explaining his rise to fame in relation to Jay Z’s retirement phase:

Where was Jay Z from 2003 to 2006? I sold 23 million records from 2003 to 2006. He stopped making music. He said ‘I quit. We’ll get back to what we got later. I quit. Timeout. I’ll come back to play later.’ When he signed that Beyonce contract he was like ‘men lie, women lie, numbers don’t.’

Later in the interview 50 Cent stated that the first record he made with an artist outside of New York City was with UGK for “As The World Turns” in 1998. He made sure to quip that “after I had got shot Jay did ‘Big Pimpin” with UGK. I don’t know where he got the idea from.” While “Big Pimpin'” was actually released in April of 2000, a month before 50 Cent was infamously shot nine times, 50 explains he continues to throw shots at Jay Z “You need someone to work off.”

During his interview with The Breakfast Club back in July of last year, Jay spoke on predicting the 50 Cent takeover of 2003-2006 and warning his own Roc-A-Fella artists around September of 2002:

I remember one time walking in the studio. It was like a small gap. Bleek, Beans. Everybody was in there. I was like, ‘Man, I’m telling you, man. Y’all better..y’all better…y’all got a change right now. Just flood it. Put out a lot of music, because 50 Cent is coming. You know, four months later, ‘In Da Club’ hit.

50 Cent’s full Sirius XM Town Hall Q&A will debut live on Sirius XM’s website, app and station on March 31st.

New Documentary To Examine The “Cover-Up” Behind The 2Pac & Notorious B.I.G. Murders

(AllHipHop News) Tupac Shakur died on September 13, 1996. Christopher Wallace died on March 9, 1997. Almost two decades later the murders of both iconic Hip Hop stars still remain unsolved.

While police and investigative journalists have yet to concretely expose the people responsible for the deaths of 2Pac and Biggie, a new documentary has taken on the task of shedding a light on the complicated stories behind their killings.

Lloyd Lake, a former associate of Death Row’s Marion “Suge” Knight, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the tell-all documentary about the Pac and Big murders. The goal of the film is “exposing the government turning a blind-eye to Suge Knight’s involvement due to his role as a government informant.”

Takashi Bufford (Set It Off, Booty Call) served as producer and director for the documentary. The movie will feature interviews with Reggie Wright, who is described as Tupac’s bodyguard and Suge Knight’s right-hand man, and lawyers familiar with the justice system’s lack of interest in prosecuting anyone involved in the cases. It will also explore the idea of the government using informants to gather information on the Hip Hop community.

“The fact that 17 years has gone by without anyone being prosecuted and there are multiple related shootings and deaths connected with Tupac’s murder for which no one has been charged, this forces us to look at the glaring fact that the legal system failed,” states Lake. “It’s my goal with this documentary to put not only those involved on trial but to reveal the shameful cover up and reveal the truth and facts in the case.”

The documentary hopes to answer the following questions:

  • What does the Government know about Tupac and Biggie murders?
  • Why are there no prosecutions of the individuals involved in the Tupac and Biggie murders?
  • Are there informants involved within the Government’s investigation of the “Hip Hop” music industry?
  • Is the Government disclosing the informants involvement in the prosecution of “Hip Hop” artist?
  • Why are individuals with significant criminal convictions (strikes) still committing crimes and never prosecuted?

Lake is looking to raise $150,000 over the next 30 days. If the filmmakers are able to reach their goal in the allotted time, the documentary will be released to the public.

Anyone who donates more than $25 will receive an advanced copy of the DVD. Other prizes are available as well including a signed copy of the film, a poster of Tupac and Biggie, and VIP invitations to the movie’s premiere.

MIXTAPE REVIEW: Young Noble and Hussein Fatal

Ready for rugged rap? No? Well, its highly likely you will just have to brace yourself . Young Noble and Hussein Fatal will eternally be known as brothers in Tupac’s Outlawz collective. However, it has been years since Pac’s passing and a whole new generation is running rap. What do Fatal and Noble do? Hop in the whip with some of their peers and craft a massive mix tape project called New Jersey Giants, a meaty project that’s so heavy the concrete will crack. So, they enlisted the likes of Treach, M.O.P., Young Buck, Heltah Skeltah, Ransom, Trae Tha Truth, Krayzie Bone and of course Tupac. The album is a throwback of sorts in that it is in direct contrast with what is poppin’ in the streets.

Check it out.

PETEY FACE!

Anyway – Petey working with Timbaland so, what you know ’bout dat?

Anyway…back to Boosie! I heard Boosie gets $50k for a show and like $20K to pop a bottle in the club. So, he’s going to make a lot of money in a very short period of time.

I heard Boosie is a very different person now, even though people are worshipping him for his indiscretions. I’m getting word that he will be very, very insulated so that he does NOT go back to jail.

Oh…shout out to Marshall “Eddie” Conway of the Black Panthers. He got out the day before Boosie and did 40 years on some trumped up charges.

He is now 67. Another soldier America has stolen from the Black community.

(AllHipHop News) Last year Lil Wayne found himself in the middle of a controversy because of his verse on Future’s “Karate Chop (Remix).” The lyrics referring to murdered teenager Emmett Till were seen by some as inappropriate and offensive, and the line eventually cost Wayne his deal with Mountain Dew.

Schoolboy Q: SXSW Is Stupid, Corporate and I May Not Come Back

(AllHipHop News) Quincy Hanley may still love being Schoolboy Q but his affinity for the music industry is waning by the day. Less than a week after Schoolboy Q voiced his regret of Top Dawg Entertainment signing with a major label, he derides South By South West for its apparent change for new artist discovery to another corporate industry event.

According to Q an in interview with The Associated Press, the event has lost its focus on the independent artist and become “corporate”:

It’s stupid. They changed it all up. It’s corporate. I don’t ever want to come back unless they change it to where the fans are in. I’m tired of performing and seeing my fans outside the gate. … That’s not fair. It’s not about the fans no more, it’s all about money, who can give you the best look

The article stated that the interview took place this past Saturday (March 14) as he prepared for a show, which may have been his performance at Spin Magazine’s Spin Day Party. Following his performance, Q sent out a few tweets from his personal Twitter account complaining about his set and SXSW as an event:

Q’s SXSW was one full of technical difficulties. Q was apparently denied entry into 50 Cent’s SXSW performance days before his Spin Day Party appearance:

Judge Rules Chris Brown To Remain In Jail Until April (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Chris Brown has to remain in jail for the next five weeks. That’s the ruling the judge in his probation case handed down today after the singer was kicked out of rehab over the weekend.

[ALSO READ: Chris Brown Reportedly Headed To Jail]

Brown was originally ordered to remain in the rehabilitation center until his pending assault case in Washington, DC began in April.

Police arrested Brown after he was thrown out of the facility for breaking internal rules – refusing to take a drug test (he later agreed) and touching a woman’s hand and elbow (he was required to remain two feet away from all women).

The judge also stated that Brown’s apparent comments about being “good at using guns and knives” while completing his rehab program was troubling, and his “inability to stay out of trouble” led to the decision to not allow him to enter another rehab facility.

Brown is to remain jailed until April 23rd when his D.C. trial ends. It is scheduled to begin on April 17th.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Future Upsets SXSW Fans!

My homey Jeremy hit me and sent me the following:

This isn’t a rumor as I was there. Future was set to perform at a show at SXSW on Saturday night at Emos. He was the closing act and the reason most people went. I went because there were other acts like Just Blaze and Mike Will on the 1s & 2s.

Anyway, future gets on stage to perform his one hour set and the sound isn’t to his liking. He says into the Mic something to the effect of fix the sound or I’m leaving. They take one or two minutes then they start the music. He rapped for about 10-15 seconds max then stopped.

Then he walked off stage saying he warned them and he’s done. This non rapping MF walked off stage and left everybody hanging.

I just had to tell someone because I know a lot of his fans were upset. People waited in line for over 4 hours to see him.

WOW.

Maybe he had to go watch Ciara give birth? I don’t know but I heard SXSW was great!

Oh, I also heard that people were slightly tricked into going to see Rick Ross. Not exactly. Ross was at the big time Fader Fort down in Austin as a part of SXSW festival. Now, make not mistake about it, I saw the Boss rocked it, but there were all sorts of rumors about a shocking, surprising guest appearance. There was Kanye, Lil Wayne, Lil Boosie, Outkast, and a bunch of other people. Who showed up? Erykah Badu came BACK and performed for a second, but she had already performed. That was cool, but definitely not up to the level of the rumors. At the end of the day, they got a full Rick Ross show sans the big shocker.

I’m getting more SXSW rumors, but nothing really crazy.
