Ab-Soul Says His Project Is Finished; TDE To Drop SZA Album Soon

(AllHipHop News) It appears Top Dawg Entertainment is not slowing down any time soon. After CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith announced that an Ab-Soul project was on the way, the Carson, California emcee confirmed on Twitter that he is done recording for the set.

Top Dawg is also actively working to keep his promise that TDE will release 6 projects in 2014. Besides Isaiah Rashad, Schoolboy Q, and Ab-Soul, Tiffith says SZA’s album is set for release in the near future as well.

TDE fans can purchase Schoolboy Q’s Oxymoron album when it is released on February 25th.

DMX To Fight George Zimmerman In Celebrity Boxing Match

(AllHipHop News) The names of opponents thrown around to face Trayvon Martin killer George Zimmerman in a “Celebrity Boxing” match included Kanye West and The Game, but CNN is reporting the fight has been officially set with DMX as Zimmerman’s foe.

Celebrity Boxing promoter Damon Feldman says X was chosen from 15,000 applicants. The bout is scheduled for three rounds.

More information including date, time, and location will be announced at a news conference next Wednesday.

“The match will be one of the biggest Celebrity Boxing matches of all time,” said Feldman.

Uh OH. I’m going to keep it brief, because I don’t want any issues. T.I. don’t play!

BUT….

Bruh stands accused in these streets. There was some beef on Twitter/Instagram that we talked bout. But, they squashed that and used TMZ at that. Well, the sh*t has hit the streets. You’ve probably seen this, but there is a rumor that Tip has fathered a baby outside of his relationship with Tiny. Say it ain’t so! Folks in the know say that the baby is a year or less. Seems like this may be from a snake friend of Tiny in the camp that gave up her squa-squa to Tip. Hopefully this is a rumor.

Also, they are saying that the chick Kerry Washington is in the midst of a little “Scandal.” She and Nnamdi Asomugha are on a “break.” We’ve seen where these “break” lead. D-Wade and Luda have both had some issues as of late.

Diddy has shot down the rumors that he might be getting engaged to Cassie. This ain’t nothing shocking.

TREY SONGZ ACCIDENTALLY DRY SNITCHES!

Trey Songz accidentally revealed that Chris Brown was probably out at a Super Bowl party when he was supposed to be in rehab. Then, the “Team Breezy” posse started publishing the images, which could lead to CB getting in trouble. They were asked to take down the image. You know that don’t work.

Seems like, even though Ashanti said it wouldn’t happen, there may be something percolating with Nelly. Apparently they were seen at a few Super Bowl parties.

Looks like Waka Flocka’s mother Deb Antney is going to war on gossip blogs. Apparently, she feels they are partially to blame for her son’s suicide. The organization is called “No RIP” for “No Reckless Posting.” I don’t know what the I stands for but anyway…God bless her and her son’s soul.

Kendrick Lamar Talks Drake, Dr. Dre, Erykah Badu & 2Pac In New Interview

(AllHipHop News) Hip Hop superstar Kendrick Lamar recently gave an interview with i-D.Vice. The Q&A featured a range of topics including his first meeting with Dr. Dre, what album he has listened to the most, how he connected with Drake for the Take Care LP, and which artist he would most like to work with in the future.

On the album he has listened to the most:

That’s hard, that’s tough. They played a lot of Tupac All Eyez On Me, Me Against The World, they probably played that track a hundred thousand times in our house.

On collaborating with Drake:

I went on his Club Paradise tour and we really built a bond, a relationship, since the first time we met. He put me on his album, which was the interlude, [“Buried Alive Interlude”], we always said it was gonna work, it was just about finding the right song, that was the right song.

On his first meeting with Dr. Dre:

I was very excited, I wasn’t nervous at all. I was more excited, ’cause I knew that this was my shot, everything that I’ve worked for, everything I’ve built up to came down to that moment.

On who he would like to collaborate with in the future:

I’m really tight on collaborations, I always say Erykah Badu, that’s it for now, that’s always in the back of my mind.

Big Daddy Kane, Twista & Trina To Be Honored At All Star Music Experience

(AllHipHop News) MP3Waxx.com and VirDiKO.com’s “All Star Music Experience” will be a 3-day event featuring some of the biggest names in Hip Hop. Big Daddy Kane, Twista, and Trina are set to receive Lifetime Achievement Awards during the festivities. There will also be live performances and several panel discussions featuring top named producers and DJs.

Some of the panelists include Drumma Boy, Erick Sermon, Young Chop, Luney Tunez, Play-N-Skillz, Kid Capri, Bigga Rankin, DJ Demp, DJ Krunch One, and DJ Mars. Radio personalities confirmed to attend include K Foxx, SiriusXM’s Nina 9, K104’s DJ Bay Bay, Q93’s Wild Wayne, and Foxie 105’s DJ OO Kee. Representatives from Atlantic, Def Jam, Columbia, Universal/Republic, and RCA Records will be on hand as well.

NBA Hall of Famer Gary Payton, Indiana Pacer Paul George, and San Antonio Spurs player Danny Green will be present at the “Official All-Star Players Ball”. Big Daddy Kane will also be performing at the party.

The All Star Music Experience is open to major label and independent artists, producers, songwriters, and executives. The event will take place during NBA All-Star Weekend (February 14th-16th) at New Orleans’ Federal Ballroom in The Security Center.

50 Cent's SMS Audio Partners With NASCAR's Swan Racing Team

(AllHipHop News) Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s entrepreneurial empire continues to grow. His latest business venture is a new partnership between his SMS Audio brand and NASCAR’s Swan Racing.

“Swan Racing and its up-and-coming drivers are the perfect match for SMS Audio,” states 50. “They are as passionate for the sport of racing as we are for our audio products, and we’re confident that the music-loving NASCAR fan base is going to enjoy our headphones – whether at track or at home.”

SMS will be an associate sponsor for the team’s No. 26 and No. 30 Toyota Camrys during the 2014 and 2015 Sprint Cup Series seasons. The deal includes Swan-branded SMS Audio headphones featuring stock car drivers Cole Whitt and Parker Kligerman. SMS will also be branded on Swan vehicles and driver’s uniforms.

“Swan Racing is very proud to partner with a growing worldwide brand like SMS Audio and to include an entrepreneur like 50 Cent as part of our team,” says Swan team owner Brandon Davis. “The SMS Audio brand will be featured on both our cars and I know our fans are going to love the product.”

The Statesville, North Carolina based Swan Racing fields two teams driven by Whitt and Kliegerman respectively. They compete full-time in 36 nationally televised races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Pro Football Player Tamba Hali Flexes His Rap Skills

Don’t let Bo Jackson or Deion Sanders fool you; there are few athletes that can play two professional sports, let alone excel in them. However, there’s another transition that’s even harder, going from athlete to artist. Yet for Kansas City Chief outside linebacker Tamba Hali, a childhood passion for music has only intensified as an adult.

Tamba took the time to speak about his own music career, his label and his future with the Chiefs:

AllHipHop: What prompted you to even venture into music?

Tamba: I’ve always been into music. I sang in the choir, I played the drums; it’s always been a passion of mine, I just happened to be kind of good at football and got drafted. (Laughs) I wasn’t turning down millions.

AllHipHop: Which one do you love more? Football or music?

Tamba: I have a well-paying job and love what I do, but if I hadn’t of been drafted I probably would have chosen music.

AllHipHop: You actually own Relumae Records which includes artists StarrZ and Gillie Da Kid; is there anything from your own artists that we should be looking forward to?

Tamba: Gillie is currently shooting a video for his “Ass Like That” single and has an album dropping April 7 while StarrZ is pushing his “Live Forever Die Dope” project. Not only am I an artist myself, I’m also a label head so it’s up to me to put these kids on the forefront.

AllHipHop: Does having your own label eliminate the chances of you potentially leaving the league to pursue music?

Tamba: I can do it while I’m still in league. I create songs here and there; I just can’t put out a full LP or tour because of my conflicting schedule with the team.

AllHipHop: As an artist how would you categorize yourself?

Tamba: I’m more of a lyricist, a backpack rapper.

AllHipHop: So where do you see your path leading to after you retire from the league?

Tamba: I’ve been into music since I was kid, leaving the league won’t change that. I’m still going to be heavily involved in music in some aspect.

AllHipHop: Which artists inspired you growing up and are there any current ones that you potentially like to collaborate with?

Tamba: I grew up listening to Biggie, Pac, Jay Z, Nas, etc. I’m not searching for people to work with me, but if they want to I’m all for it. Right now I’m focused on collaborating with one of my own; Gillie or StarrZ.

AllHipHop: In regards to football you’ve faced a lot of changes this season. How has the transition with new Quarterback Alex Smith been?

Tamba: Alex has definitely brought a new dynamic to our team. I think before, we were hoping to win with guys we really weren’t that confident in.
