(AllHipHop News) Young Money’s Nicki Minaj has not released an official project since Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up in 2012. The leader of the Barbz is apparently working on both a mixtape and an album at the moment. Nicki made the announcement on the remix to Young Thug’s “Danny Glover.”

“Week in a half, I’m gonna be in that ass,” says Nicki during the opening of the track. “I’m working on the album and the mixtape at the same motherf**king time.”

Nicki first burst onto the music scene with her mixtapes Playtime Is Over and Sucka Free. Her last free tape was 2009’s Beam Me Up Scotty. The Queens femcee will also appear on the upcoming YM compilation album Young Money: Rise Of An Empire.

Rap Genius Releases New iPhone App

(AllHipHop News) The ability to decode your favorite lyrics has just gone mobile. Rap Genius announced the release of their new iPhone app.

“Genius” is more than just an extension of the website. Fans will now be able to get instant access to lyrics for all the songs in their iTunes library. Another new feature, “Genius Recognition Technology,” allows listeners to get annotated lyrics to songs playing around them.

“This is the true launch of Rap Genius. Right now, more than half of our traffic comes from mobile devices. Soon, it will be 100%,” states Rap Genius co-founder Tom Lehman. “In 1,000 years, when the aliens land, ‘Rap Genius’ will literally mean ‘that dope iPhone app’. This app has long been our users’ most-requested feature, and we’re pumped to finally deliver.”

The app is not just Hip Hop centered either. Fans of rock music, poetry, and historically relevant information can also discover breakdowns of materials related to those subjects.

“Rap Genius started with Hip Hop because we are obsessed with music and lyricism,” adds Lehman. “Now, Genius gives you access to Rock Genius, Poetry Genius, and News Genius. So you can use it to check out annotated versions of Vampire Weekend tracks, Sun Tzu’s Art of War (annotated by Ben Horowitz!), or Satoshi Nakamoto’s original Bitcoin paper (annotated by Coinbase!).”

(AllHipHop News) J. Cole celebrated his birthday in a big way yesterday (1/28). The Roc Nation emcee shocked the crowd at his “What Dreams Come True Tour” in New York City when his boss Jay Z popped out on stage for performances of “PSA” and “F**kWithMeYouKnowIGotIt.” HOV also presented Cole with a special birthday gift – his original Roc-A-Fella chain.

That was not the only surprise of the night. In case anyone thought Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse caused a permanent split between him and his friend J. Cole, the North Carolina native brought out the West Coast representative to squash any of those rumors. Kendrick was on hand to help run through Cole’s “Forbidden Fruit.” The Black Hippy member also goes into his good kid, m.A.A.d city track “Backseat Freestyle.”

Kanye West Quietly Settles Assault Case

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West quietly settled an assault case that occurred in a Beverly Hills chiropractor’s office for a cool $250,000.

A white teen reportedly called Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian a “n***er lover,” to which the rapper responded with a barrage of fists.

After being paid, the teen no longer wants to press charges.

This action will likely present the Los Angeles DA from filing charges, because he will no longer have a willing witness.

Kanye has not publicly addressed the matter at press time.

Flavor Flav Released Without Bail In Speeding Case

(AllHipHop News) Flavor Flav was granted leniency in a speeding case thanks to a Long Island judge.

The New York judge release the rapper without bail today after the rapper pleaded not guilty.

The Public Enemy hype man was headed to his mother’s funeral on January 9 when he was arrested for speeding and driving without a license.

According to the AP, he was driving 79 mph in a 55 mph zone on Long Island and also had a bit of marijuana on him as well.

The rapper, now a resident of Las Vegas, paid off several outstanding traffic infractions.

He told the Associated Press “God is good” as he left the courthouse.

Everybody is on MackyMore’s johnson right now because he beat Kendrick Lamar. But, nobody cares that he beat Drake. Anyway, moving along, Macklemore has been the dude that thought he might be gay when he was a kid and is now the poster child for a kinder, gentler Hip-Hop. Nevertheless, he’s apparently got some tweets that suggest he’s had some homophobic tendencies in the past. To me, this is almost meaningless, but it (if they are real) suggested his mind has evolved since 2009. Now that I think about it, 2009 isn’t that long ago.

Epic Fail of the Day: Cow Farts Make Barn Explode in Germany

Sucks for the farm owner…

A bunch of cows nearly lifted the roof off their barn when their farts combined and activated. According to AP, the explosion was caused by the methane released in their gas.

Police say that a static electric charge triggered the detonation, and a spurt of flame, at the farm in Germany. The roof was slightly damaged and one cow suffered minor burns but no humans were hurt.

Ninety cows were kept in the shed and it wasn’t clear why enough methane had built up to cause the explosion. Bovine burps and flatulence release large quantities of the gas.

What the hell am I doing with my life? Apparently, there’s a new fad in Korea called gastronomic voyeurism where people are paying to watching people eat via web cam. One woman, referred to as “The Diva,” does this for up to three hours a day and said the people who watch her are people who can’t eat much for various reasons, so they live vicariously through her. They also have the options to chat with her or send virtual balloons, which translates to money.

She quit her day job because she makes about $9,000 a month.

This is already creepy as it is but I’m pretty sure there are perverts and horny toads out there watching this for other reasons.

About those rumors circulating that Love and Hip-Hop star Amina Buddafly is pregnant…

We’ve been hearing industry chatter that she is knocked up and that all isn’t rosey in loveland between she and Peter Gunz but both parties are keeping it mum on whether it’s true or not most likely because they’re under contract.

Hip Hollywood caught up with Amina, who says viewers will find out soon enough.

“I can’t really talk about that yet because that’s something that’s going to be revealed on the show still. People have to stay tuned and watch to see really what’s going on,” she said.

She also added a shady tidbit about their relationship.

“We’re still together. We’re still married. It’s rocky, but we’re working it out. I love him,” she said.

In other words, she’s probably going to do a 13 year bid like Tara before reaching a real breaking point.
