No, Nicki Minaj concert tickets will not be issued with a sex offender disclaimer warning. But the recent faux tickets may highlight a stark reality for the New York City-bred rapper.
In case you missed it, a photoshopped image of a Pink Friday 2 World Tour mobile ticket for a date set in Oakland early next month began circulating on social media. The fake e-ticket included a disclaimer which read in part, “Please be advised in accordance with California state regulations, we are obligated to disclose the presence of a level three sex offender backstage.” The disclaimer then goes on to name Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, as the aforementioned offender and directed underage attendees to refrain from interacting with him.
While the graphic has been confirmed to be fake, many users on social media had genuine reactions to the image on Twitter (X).
“This is insane like can he just not go?,” one user wrote, to which another replied, “This fake bro.”
Other users latched on to the specifics of the disclaimer, with one user writing “Boy a repeat risk,” in a tweet with a screenshot of a Reddit thread defining the levels of a sex offender registry.
Ultimately, many Twitter (X) users deduced that the situation was still very serious, even if the ticket was fake.
”Fake or not, his charges are real as hell and she’s a clown,” a user tweeted, to which another said, “For something he did when he was 15. The law is the law and they gotta abide.” They were met with, “Rape is rape.”
