(AllHipHop Rumors) Tank said NOT TODAY!
In interesting news, singer Tank & rapper Ja Rule exchanged words on Instagram over a hashtag that is actually supposed to celebrate joy and excellence.
BET’s American Black Film Festival Honors was a star-studded event and of course many wanted to share previous moments from the behind the scenes on social media, especially the award show’s presenter, BET.
BET posted a photo of some of the cast of the New Edition movie, Maxwell, and Omari Hardwick with a caption that included a popular Chance The Rapper-inspired hashtag, #BlackBoyJoy.
It was all good until Ja Rule got offended, instead of him taking the time out to celebrate the black excellence in the photo.
Ja Rule addressed BET asking who was behind the hashtag as he felt that it wasn’t cool as it was very demeaning and goes all the way back to slavery and segregation. Ja Rule says no man should be called a boy as it’s very disrespectful.
Tank who also was one of the New Edition movie’s stars took time out to address Ja in the comments.
“When one Black man tears down another Black man for simply doing things a little different than what he would, that creates the divide. How in God’s name can you find something wrong with that? It’s not like you’ve been the beacon of hope for our community, so I think you should rethink your position. Let these young men live in the success of their hard work! Please!,” said Tank!
Tank felt that Ja should be reinforcing the positivity and not negatively creating a divide. What are your thoughts on the hashtag?
