Canada has previously appeared in the FIFA World Cup finals in 1986 and 2022, where Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies scored their first goal at the last event in Qatar.

The schedule for FIFA’s upcoming global event has been announced, marking a historic moment as Toronto, Drake’s hometown, will be one of the host cities at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The World Cup will be held in Canada for the first time, beginning on June 12, 2026. Excitement is mounting across the country, with preparations already in full swing.

Canada will co-host the 2026 World Cup alongside the United States and Mexico. Grammy Award winner Drake is expected to be present when the Canadian Men’s National Team (CANMNT) plays on home turf.

Speaking with FIFA president Gianni Infantino, Drake expressed his enthusiasm: “There is passion in many things, but the passion for the World Cup is unmatched. We will welcome everyone with open arms. The blend of passion, competitive spirit, and the love for the game will fill the streets with energy. Canada will be ready for you.”

Responding to Drake’s excitement during a star-studded schedule reveal that included Kim Kardashian and Kevin Hart, Infantino praised the musician: “Drake was incredible. He is a true soccer fan.”
