(AllHipHop Features) The Robinson family is the new first family of Hip-Hop and quite literally. Sugar Hill Records broke down the doors for Hip-Hop and opened up a flourishing genre of street music to the world in a way never seen before. Now, the family of founder Sylvia Robinson is on Bravo TV showing the in’s, out’s and dysfunctions of the company while seeing who will be an heir the the iconic label’s throne on “First Family of Hip Hop.”
AllhipHop interviewed patriarch Leland, Lea and Darnell Robinson about this innovative resuscitation of this historic movement that stretches back to the late 1970’s.
First Family of Hip Hop airs on Bravo Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
