Vince Vaughn Isn’t Laughing Anymore
Funnyman Vince Vaughn was once considered to be a member of the Hollywood “frat pack,” a group of Hollywood actors who frequently starred in comedy films together. Films like Swingers, Dodgeball, and Wedding Crashers were a hit with audiences, but he more or less only played the same character each time. He became known for being a bit of a one-note performer. Aside from that, he wasn’t feeling as inspired to make movies as he once was.
“The machine can make you idle,” he told an interviewer. “You read a script and then you agree to a role, then soon enough you’re on set looking at a scene that has had all the juice and the life sucked right out of it. You become a hired gun doing a very inoffensive PG-13 movie and, well, you kind of just go along with it. Like anything in life you’re either growing or you’re dying. When you get too comfortable you start to decline.”
