Atlanta based record label Big Cat Records has inked a deal with Tampa, Florida rapper Khia, who will release her third album, titled Nasty Muzik.
Khia hit big in 2002 with the single “My Neck, My Back (Lick It),” which was taken from the gold selling album Thug Misses.
The single was also a hit in the UK reaching #4 on the charts in 2004.
The rapper hit the road based off the success of “My Neck My, My Back,” and released a follow-up album in 2006, titled Gangstress.
Khia also landed a high-profile appearance on Janet Jacksons track “So Excited,” from her comeback album 20 Y.O.
“I am extremely excited about my new deal,” Khia told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “My third album will definitely show my growth as an artist and producer. Ive been through a lot and my lyrics will prove it.”
The first single from the album will be “What They Do,” which features Gucci Mane.
“Signing Khia to the label was a no-brainer,” said Mel Breeden, President of Big Cat Records. “Everyone knows who she is. She knows how to make a hit and we are happy to have her on board.” Big Cat Records is owned by Marlon “Big Cat” Rowe.
The label has released albums by Rasheeda, Maceo Parker and Gucci Mane.
Nasty Muzik is due in stores this Spring.
