Wake Up Show hosts Sway and King Tech are issuing an open call to aspiring entertainers to enter their urSession.com 100K Battle rap battle contest.
The competition, which kicks off today (April 2), is open to new or unsigned artists. Contestants can enter the battle by signing up for free at urSession.com and downloading a beat to showcase their talent at the Wake Up Show’s web site.
Founded by Sway, King Tech, System of A Down bassist Shavo Odajian and Internet entrepreneur Narb Avedissian, urSession.com is a music focused social networking site and digital record label designed to create an open market for unsigned musicians.
Beats for the 100K Battle, which are valued at more than $100,000, were provided to the site by more than 20 established Hip-Hop producers, including The Alchemist, 9th Wonder, DJ Khalil, and the late J Dilla.
After selecting a beat to rap or sing over, contestants can upload their work to urSession.com. Fans will then vote on their favorite tracks.
The artist with the most votes will win $5,000 as well a trip to Hollywood to appear on the Wake Up Show to have the winning track played nationwide.
