DJ AM’s life will be celebrated this (August 26th) Thursday, when legendary DJ’s/producers DJ Premier and Clark Kent host an event with the DJ AM Memorial Fund. DJ Premier will be joined by an all-star lineup of acts at Santos’ Party House during the DJ AM fundraiser. Also spinning will be DJ Stretch Armstrong, Mark Ronson, Eli Escobar, Jus Ske, Jesse Marco and DJ Riz. As a producer, DJ AM worked with artists like Dilated Peoples, Jay-Z, Madonna, Beastie Boys, Weezer and Three 6 Mafia. As a DJ, he worked with top artists like Will Smith, Babyface, Lady Sovereign and others. The DJ’s will spin special sets celebrating the life of DJ AM, which ended on August 28th, 2009, when he was found dead of an overdose in his Manhattan apartment. The event will take place at Santos Party House at 96 Lafayette Street. Atlanta, Georgia rapper Diamond will premiere the video for her latest single “Lotta Money this week on MTV Jams and BET’s 106 & Park. The video will debut on MTV Jams on Wednesday (August 25th) and Diamond will head to New York to introduce the video as the New Joint of the Day to fans on Friday (August 27th). The video, which was directed by John “Dr. Teeth” Tucker, features cameo by Gucci Mane, Yung Joc and former group member Princess. This Saturday (August 28th), Diamond will perform at the Texas Summer Music Conference with Dallas, Texas rapper Dorrough. Incarcerated South Side Baton Rogue rap star Lil Boosie will drop his fifth album, titled Incarcerated. The album, which will drop on Asylum Records, will feature guest appearances by Foxx, Webbie, Lil Trill and others, while producers include B.J. and Mouse on Tha Track. The album is the followup to Boosie’s critically acclaimed album Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz and is due in stores on September 28. The news comes as Boosie sits in jail after being indicted on a first degree murder charge in June 2010. Boosie, born Torrence Hatch, was already serving a four-year sentence for possession of marijuana, when he was indicted for the October 2009 shooting death of a man named Terry Boyd.
