Ma$e: I Didn’t Punch J. Cole For Dissing Me Because He’s A Kid (VIDEO)

MA$E SAYS HE ALMOST PUNCHED J. COLE BECAUSE COLE DISSED HIM (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) In case you missed it, Ma$e is no longer a pastor. During a recent interview with Detroit’s 107.5FM, the Harlem World representative revealed a hidden beef he had with J. Cole and how his new album will be “personal”.

On J. Cole’s song “Miss America”, he rapped “Granny broke cause she always givin’ bread to the Church/
Now pastor Mason Betha in a Lambo.” While Ma$e did not name that song specifically as what he felt was a slight from the young Roc Nation artist, he did reveal that his anger for J. Cole almost resulted in a physical altercation:

I like J. Cole too when he’s not taking shots at me,” Mason revealed. “I saw him one day, I was gonna hit him but I was too grown to be knocking light skin people out. But I really like him as an artist. . In our generation you said something on a record, we see you it’s action. But when I saw him I was thinking, ‘Oh, he’s just a kid… he don’t get it.’

Ma$e also hinted to his new album being titled Harlem World 2, a sequel to his 1997 debut album. While he is best known for his feel good party records, the soft spoken MC promises that his first album in a decade will be a personal album that touches on his frustration with his placement in Hip Hop’s pantheon:

Personal with where they place me. If you ever look at the pictures of Hip Hop it’s like everybody in there but me? I’m thinking ‘how am I not in the picture?’
