The problem is these fucking labels want artists who are already established. Basically they want you to have already gotten x amount of radio spins, sold x amount of copies and already have a buzz going...That shyt takes money and if you don't have it then you're screwed... No one is being signed based off of sheer talent and that's a damn shame..As a result you have artists such as myself who get the short end of the stick. The outcome from that is hip hop suffers as a whole..You have these wack ass southern artists coming out with all these bullshyt songs and basically spitting in the face of the people who put their blood, sweat, and tears into this rap shyt and laid down the foundation. Thats how I look at it.. I feel we owe those cats better songs than soldier boy, laffy taffy, you ain't got these, check my footwork(just to name a few wack ass songs) OH AND I'M FROM THE SOUTH BY THE WAY....ALABAMA TO BE EXACT, BORN AND RAISED. When cats down here listen to my music they say oh you don't even sound like you're from down here you're east coast dick riding....NO..It's just that I was raised on east coast hip hop. Don't get me wrong I was raised on southern hip hop also. Cats like the ghetto boys, 5th ward boys, black monks, trinity garden(fuck it the whole rap-a-lot from back in the day) eightball &MJG(the whole suave house), Outkast, Goodie Mob...But by the time these southern artists came east coast rap had already laid down my lyrical foundation so those southern cats only added fuel to the fire...you know what's scary though? I just finished recording my album..While working on this album I was working two jobs. Imagine if I wasn't working and the only thing I had to do was work on music everyday all day. Nobody could touch me on this MIC. WITH THAT BEING SAID, IF I EVER GET A RECORD DEAL IT'S GOING TO BE TROUBLE....
