Outkast Road Manager/Former Wrestler Found Dead
Published Tuesday, March 25, 2008 11:31 AM
By Tai Saint Louis

Outkast road Manager and former pro-wrestler Chase Tatum was found dead in his Atlanta home on Sunday (Mar 23), of an apparent drug overdose.

The 34-year-old actor and personal trainer, who appeared alongside Big Boi in 2007’s movie Who’s Your Caddy? had a history of being dependent on painkillers and was set to enter a rehab facility, his father Roy Tatum said.

Chase Tatum entered the WCW in 1999, about five years following his win at the Mr. Georgia bodybuilding competition.

He only remained a part of the World Championship Wrestling organization for a little over two years, but was left with severe back problems.

Then self-employed as a personal trainer, and uninsured, Tatum relied on painkillers to deal with his ailments.

At the time of his death, he was recovering from back surgery to repair a degenerative disc and injuries sustained while wrestling.

“He was in the process of getting his life back together,” Roy Tatum told the Atlanta-Journal Constitution on Monday (Mar 24). “He was confident he was going to turn things around, to live a normal life again without the painkillers.”

The Fulton County Medical Examiner has ordered a toxicology report and should know the exact cause of Chase Tatum’s death in about six to eight weeks.

im not sure if you guy actually paid attention to this article, but he was addicted to pain killers because he was uninsured and could not seek proper medical treatment for injuries to his back he obtained while being a pro wrestler. No where in this article did it say steroids. Please...dont tarnish this mans name with things that you make up, just to "take a stand" on a message board.

What's with the comments here? The man was in PAIN! Do you get that part? Do any of you undertstand how bad a back injury can hurt?   I'm sure many of you have had some minor back trouble, and even THAT hurt pretty BAD, didn't it? Well this man had major, constant back pain. Like doesn't-get- better-when-you-lie-down, can't-sleep, can't-think PAIN. So, he took PAINKILLERS. Not steroids. You're all so anti-drug, huh? Well, you're all welcome to just live with the pain, if you really wanna stick to your so-called beliefs, but leave the guys who are actually in pain alone.
