West Coast rhymesayer Ras Kass continues to keep fans in mind as he gears up for the release of his forthcoming album Institutionalized Vol.II.

The project is the latest in a string of albums from Ras Kass, who first emerged on the scene with his 1996 debut Soul On Ice. Since then, the California native has cemented his status as a fixture in the West Coast Hip-Hop scene with his 1998 follow-up Rasassination and appearances on various mixtapes.

Institutionalized Vol. II comes after Ras Kass 'Institutionalized Vol. 1.Revenge of the Spit, a 27-song mixtape that was released independently in February 2006.

The new Babygrande Records album was originally slated to come out in the summer of 2006, but was put on hold in light of the rapper's lawsuit against Capital/EMI Records.

The label later released Ras Kass from his recording contract following the settlement of the suit in 2007.

Ras Kass is currently serving time at the Pitchess Detention Center North Facility in Castaic, Ca. after his Oct. 29, 2007 arrest in Palmdale, California, for violating his probation by leaving California to attend the BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta.

Ras Kass' Instinutionalized Vol. II is scheduled to hit stores on August 5th.

Shut the fuck up Joe Da Man you fake ass fucking Paul Wall looking mother fucker.

Ras Kass is more of an emcee than Game could ever wish to be.  At least Rassy Kassy has kept it real with himself and everyone during his career.   He didn't allow somebody like 50 Cent to play his puppet master and then throw him aside like some little hoe.   I mean seriously, how could you say The Game wasn't 50 Cent's hoe.

Get out of here hating on Ras, especially when Game "beat him up"...by what hitting him with a bottle? Or having his body guards involved?   Hand to hand The Game isn't shit, bitch boy would be scared to break a nail

I wasn't aware that Rass Kass was racist.  Now his law troubles...I can definitely co-sign that one.  Dude can't distinguish his rhyme pad from his rap sheet.

Just cuz you say "my bad for the hate," it doesnt get u off the hook. Ras Kass is super lyrical and has just been fucked by the industry. He is the epitome of rappers being surpressed by labels. I cant wait to get this new album, but Im not gonna hold my breath either. He's had maad albums that were supposed to come out and never have so i'll believe it when i see it.

Dont sleep on Ras Kass

Very interesting to refer to me as a fake pall wall my brother when i am Puerto Rican and half Domincan but the fact is no one in hip hop pays much attention to him and no one will besides yourself you may like what this rapper talks about but it is not of any interest to me besides him being in jail and getting his ass wipe by game was the highlight of his career i said sorry for the hate but come on Ras kass better than the Game thats insane you know that  but all in all i hope he sells mad CDs son

JoeDaMan - The Game has had more mainstream success than Ras Kass but that doesn't make Ras Kass worse than The Game.  The whole reason The Game rose up to such a mainstream and recognizeable status is his relation with Dr.Dre/50Cent/Eminem.  Ras Kass is way more lyrical than The Game ever wishes he could be, and Ras Kass name drops in his song in a much more creative way, his metaphors, lyrics, punchlines and concepts are beyond any shit The Game could ever do.

Don't say that Ras Kass isn't relevant just because he's not on your MTV, VH1 and making songs or beef just for the purpose of promotion, doesn't make him irrelevant.  Ras Kass in my honest opinion is the most lyrical rapper out of the West coast, and honestly the radios and mainstream rap has been saturated with so much garbage on the radio these days nobody is going to check for music like his with his depth.  But see, this is what makes him relevant, the depth in his lyrics, how complex his writing is at times, with a flow that blends well puts him in a great place of balance.  He's able to be really lyrical, without sounding backpacker boring..he can walk the line.  He's the kind of emcee that gives hope to others, he's the kind of emcee that proves that hiphop is not dead.  But don't give me or anyone that "nobody's checking for his shit" type of bullshit because you're out there swanging on the cock of The Game, Lil Wayne,  or whatever rapper it is that's the commercial "buzz" of the moment.  Dig deeper than the surface and you'll discover rappers/groups such as Ras Kass, Chino XL, Krumb Snatcha, Sean Price, Gangstarr, AZ, Cormega, Punchline & Wordsworth, Mykill Myers, High & Mighty, Young Zee, Journalist, Pharoah Monche, Royal Flush, Tragedy and a ton of other rappers I have forgot to mention.......those are all the artists that are a foundation.   That other shit you see on TV and hear on the radio is just the bullshit that has been picked out to be marketed to women and pre-teens....that's the dumb shit.

If you're puerto rican or not...you are a Paul Wall looking mother fucker.....look at you, and don't like Puerto Wall
