Tupac ‘One Nation” Project Set for Official Release

By Ismael AbduSalaam

After 13 years of speculation and legal wrangling, the late Tupac Shakur’s dream of musically uniting the East and West Coasts has become a reality with the release of his ambitious One Nation album.

The opus was originally conceived by Tupac in 1996, after he witnessed the media and fan fallout of his personal feud with former friend The Notorious B.I.G.

Feeling that the issue had caused unnecessary tension between entire coasts, Tupac reached out to respected Brooklyn collective Boot Camp Clik to release a joint project dispelling any media notion of a Hip-Hop civil war.

From Shakur’s California residence, the parties worked diligently on completing a full album in time for release the following year.

Because of Tupac’s unsolved September 1996 murder, tracks from the project were indefinitely shelved and remained in limbo for the next 13 years.

Now, label A.E.G. has acquired the rights for the 18-track LP, and will release One Nation as a digital-only album.

Guests assisting Tupac and Boot Camp on the project include Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Tha Outlawz, Big Daddy Kane, Greg Nice, and the Notorious B.I.G.

One Nation will be released on Friday March 20 through all major digital distributors such as iTunes and Amazon.

Tupac’s last posthumous album was 2006’s Pac’s Life.

This year, Shakur would have celebrated his 38th birthday.

MRGODBYROAD, cuzzo i got the orginal, with the orignal beats and all in fact it was like a double disc with big daddy kane greg nice and all of that...honestly it sounds as if it needs to have newer beats and shit, the quality wasnt that great, kinda like the 12 Makaveli cds that came out after he died.....
side note

Have you heard, "In His Own Words"??? just about the last interview he did, speaking about the one nation album and still dissing the hell out of biggie...one of the tracks on the one nation album he is dissing biggie..... Yall cats act like yall forgot what was going on in '96...lol...acting like they squashed they shit before he died......reality.....they never did

@ MRGODBYROAD
I been having the original well over 10yrs now and no Biggie wasn't suppose to be on there and shouldn't be on the now, probably some ole bullshit the label has thrown together! Besides playa use common since when Pac died him and Biggie was at the peak of their beef!

Man i really hope they used all the original beats man. I hate what they did to all of Tupacs' albums after the fact. All the new beats were so wack. Switching it up is not what Tupac would have wanted. Respect the mans art. You wouldn't paint over Michaelangelos sisteen chapel right?, or a picasso painting. Leave that sh*t the way it is.

It is nice to see that Pacs movement still lives on. I also hope that he is resting in peace. I am sure he is. What a beautiful spirit he was. He was truly a gift. Biggie was a gift too as well. They both left us too soon. The game was bigger than them, they were just pawns in the game. Like we wall are.

I didn't mean it like that homie  I'm just saying that PAC had that type of appeal were ppl would follow him. I know he ain't the brother Malcolm but he couldve ended the whole east west drama if he wanted to and we wouldve listened just like Malcolm ppl would have listened to him on anything he had to say that's why both were silenced. That's all

it's not that the songs needs new beats. its the fact that when they were bootlegged into mp3 form. it was ripped very poorly and whoever ripped then didnt know what the hell they were doing and thats why not all the songs come out in cd quality. everybody thats a fan of 2pac wants all of those songs to come out in cd quality. have you heard the original version of dump or die with kausion? i have yet to find a version of that song where it doesnt cut out in mid verse while gonzoe is rapping.

That's the first thing I was thinking.  Man, these labels need some from fresh blood on their team.  With the state of the music industry, surely someone should have thought about releasing the ORIGINAL tracks and not some remixed bullshit.

It's Pac so I'm gonna support off the strength of his name / reputation...but something tells me this is gonna be some bullshit.  Like, 13 tracks of the same ol' Pac verses we've already heard **In my best Pac Voice**  "Lord help me, save me / Mama keep praying for a young nigga / trying to duck an early grave."  If I hear that verse remixed one more time I'm gonna puke.

And as for Biggie...dude only had a hand full of material so you know that shits gonna be recycled.  Everybody gonna be on some thug, revolutionary shit and Biggie's gonna come out the blue with "IT WAS ALL A DREAM!!!  I USED TO READ WORD-UP MAGAZINE!!!  SALT-N-PEPA AND HEAVY D OFF IN A LIMOSINE!!!"

Oh boy, I can't wait!
