You're beyond me!!  I understand your opinion, I know people like you!  But really, if you have any idea of where hip-hop came from or where it's going, then you should know what i"m talking about!  I respect the pop-side of rap, the type of rap that isn't meant for the streets and is meant for the club!   Because without that, there wouldn't be a mainstream understanding of rap!   However, you can be any lame on the mic with a one-hit wonder and never be heard of again!  The rappers that remain after years of listening, are the one's with some sort of message, other than hoe's, crack or jail!!!!!!!

As a former backpacker who listens to music based on the flow, message and beats I know my prime is past me and I look at the artists of today with disdain. The cats that are the hot today are copycats and simply repeating the negative subjects that have gotten truly played out. If you think the artists are to blame you are right, but the artists are only popular due to the corporate structure of the music industry. If you think for a minute about why all this wackness is getting so much play, just think about who really makes the money off of album sales and radio play. Hint Hint, It aint the artist. Who decides the play list on the radio? Who decides which artist to promote. Anybody who thinks that negative rap content is by accident is truly fooling themselves.Anybody who does not believe in the tricknology of rap music is falling for the trap already. I won't say I haven't been a huge fan of negative lyrics and artist in my time but at least then it was original and fresh and delivered in a very artistic fashion. Gucci is a wack artist and I can't believe he gets the props he gets. Yes, I am waiting for him to fall off but until there is a new coon that the corporate machine can push, I guess he is it. But he is wack as hell.
