Working alongside Brent Walker and Du Love, Violator CEO, Chris Lighty is on the prowl in search of the next “money making artist”.
According to Lighty, the Who Got Skillz competition was started in order to find, “The next artist who can take over Violator worldwide and really take it to the next level.”
“I’ve had a lot of success managing some great artists, but they all had to be discovered at some point, so I’m creating a platform to find the next new artist that will take it to the next level and take over Violator worldwide,” Chris Lighty told AllHipHop.com.
Lighty has had an extensive career working with and managing various artists including 50 Cent, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, and Missy Elliott. Over the past six years,
Violator Management/Records has gone on to sell approximately 10 million records each year.
In June of 2007, Lighty formed Brand Asset Group, a new joint venture with Warner Music Group, which helps manages and develop brand extensions associated with various artists from all genres of music.
