(AllHipHop News) Jay-Z has dumped a lawsuit that stemmed over a recipe for chicken wings at his 40/40 Club in New York City.
Originally, Jay-Z had filed a the $1.5 million federal after chef Mike Shand was hired to overhaul the menu of the 40/40 Club. Shand eventually left the establishment and took several recipes with him, including the chicken wing.
Shand’s lawyer Vik Pawar told the New York Post, “The spice-mix recipe that Mike developed is his own recipe. 40/40 terminated him, then had the audacity to sue him for the recipe.”
Pawar also said that the sue has been dropped. Still, he said that his client may pursue his own legal action against Jay-Z and 40/40.
“We still may sue the club for defamation of character and for the return of his possessions, including his laptop, which the club still has,” Pawar said.
At press time, there was no comment by Jay-Z or reps for 40/40.
Shand started out his relationship with the 40/40 Club as the personal chef for Jay-Z and Beyonce.
