(AllHipHop News) Rising emcee Joey Bada$$ is adding another title to his résumé. The 18-year-old accidentally announced in an interview with Fuse that he is now the new creative director at Eckō Unltd.
The urban clothing brand is celebrating its 20 year anniversary this year, and the New Jersey-based company decided to tap the New York lyricist to help lead Eckō into its third decade with apparel actually designed by the budding rapper.
“They’re definitely taking my visions and running with it,” says Joey. He also revealed that Eckō will be releasing a Pro Era collection inspired by his Brooklyn Hip-Hop collective.
This will not be the Pros’ first step into the fashion industry. The crew has t-shirts for sale through the Smoker’s Club, and Pro Era “Decades” beanies and caps are already sold out on the group’s official online store.
In the interview, Joey also speaks on his relationship with his new employer’s founder Marc “Ecko” Milecofsky.
“Whenever we have a talk it put’s my mind on a higher plateau. He inspires me a lot, and I just do some next sh*t.”
The business relationship between Pro Era and Marc’s clothing line extends beyond just fashion. Eckō Unltd is one of the sponsors of the upcoming nationwide “Beast Coast Tour” featuring Joey Bada$$, Pro Era, Flatbush Zombies, The Underachievers, and Statik Selektah.
